Job Overview: As a Platform Engineer at EBRD, you will play a crucial role in leading the transformation of cloud-native architectures and containerized microservices. Your primary responsibilities will include designing, developing, and supporting hyperscale Azure architectures that ensure secure, highly available, and resilient solutions. You will utilize CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), observability tools, and configuration management to build robust enterprise-scale platforms. This position requires you to re-architect legacy applications and orchestrate cloud-native services, making a significant impact on the organization’s operational excellence. You will collaborate with various teams, embed DevOps best practices, and troubleshoot infrastructure and application performance issues. This role is ideal for individuals who are certified, experienced, and eager to drive cloud-first innovation within a dynamic and diverse environment.
Duties and Responsibilities: Your duties will encompass a wide range of responsibilities, including but not limited to: designing and implementing hyperscale cloud architectures, supporting microservice-oriented and containerized solutions, consulting on DevOps methodologies across different squads, and troubleshooting application and infrastructure issues. You will also be responsible for setting up CI/CD pipelines, managing configuration and package dependencies, and utilizing observability tools to monitor performance. Additionally, you will work closely with Managed Service Providers and Professional Service Partners to ensure the successful deployment and management of cloud solutions. Your role will require a robust understanding of both on-premise and cloud environments, as well as the ability to migrate workloads effectively between these settings.
Required Qualifications: To qualify for this position, candidates must possess intermediate to advanced technology certifications relevant to cloud architecture and DevOps practices. An entry-level service management certification, such as ITIL Foundation, is also required. Candidates should have a strong understanding of software development principles, infrastructure management, and performance monitoring approaches. Experience working with Managed Service Providers and Professional Service Partners is highly desirable, as is a proven track record in designing and supporting enterprise-scale applications and high availability architectures.
Educational Background: Candidates should have a relevant degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degrees or specialized certifications in cloud computing, DevOps, or related disciplines will be considered an asset. Continuous professional development and staying updated with the latest technologies in cloud architecture and DevOps practices are highly encouraged.
Experience: The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in designing, implementing, and supporting hyperscale cloud architectures, particularly within Microsoft Azure. A strong background in working with container orchestration tools and enterprise-scale applications is essential. Candidates should have hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, configuration management, and observability tooling, as well as a solid understanding of performance monitoring and troubleshooting practices. Experience in consulting on DevOps methodologies and working collaboratively with cross-functional teams is also important.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, as it is the primary language of communication within the organization. Proficiency in additional languages, particularly those spoken in the EBRD member countries, will be considered a valuable asset and may enhance your application.
Additional Notes: This position is a fixed-term contract lasting three years. The EBRD promotes a flexible working environment, expecting employees to work in the office approximately 50% of their time.
