Job Overview:
The Manager position within the Information and Technology Solutions (ITS) Vice Presidency at the World Bank Group is a pivotal role that focuses on leveraging technology to enhance development finance solutions. The selected candidate will lead a diverse team to deliver technology solutions that align with the strategic objectives of the Development Finance (DFI) Vice Presidency. This role requires a deep understanding of both technology and finance, as well as the ability to engage with business partners to create a multi-year roadmap that drives measurable value. The Manager will also be responsible for overseeing the planning, design, and deployment of systems that support core DFI functions, ensuring optimal performance and integration of finance technologies across the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Manager will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including:
  • Collaborating with business partners to develop and execute a multi-year technology roadmap for DFI.
  • Acting as a trusted advisor to business partners on technology selection and design.
  • Leading the planning, design, configuration, and deployment of systems supporting DFI functions.
  • Managing the delivery and operations of the DFI solutions portfolio, including budget management.
  • Coordinating system enhancements and ensuring optimal system performance.
  • Strengthening integration of finance technologies across various applications.
  • Managing vendor relationships and ensuring compliance with contracts.
  • Driving digital transformation initiatives by embedding AI and machine learning into business solutions.
  • Mentoring IT staff and fostering a collaborative work environment across geographical locations. 1
  • Developing strategies to attract and retain top IT talent.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a combination of technical understanding, finance domain expertise, and proven leadership skills. Required qualifications include:
  • Demonstrated finance domain expertise and solid technical understanding of current and emerging technologies.
  • A Master’s degree in finance, computer science, or a related field, along with 12+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong organizational skills and business judgment, with a track record of delivering results under pressure.
  • Expertise in business process transformation and the use of automation and AI to improve outcomes.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams and building high-performance cultures.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Master’s degree in finance, computer science, or a related field. Candidates should have a strong foundation in both finance and technology, which is essential for effectively managing the technology solutions for Development Finance.

Experience:
The position requires substantial experience in leading large enterprise-level engagements and managing sizable teams, including staff, vendors, and contractors. Candidates should have a proven track record of delivering results in dynamic environments and adapting to changing corporate objectives.

Languages:
The mandatory language for this position is English. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered a plus, but English is the primary language of communication within the organization.

Additional Notes:
This is a local recruitment position, meaning that compensation will be paid in local currency based on the selected location. The term duration for this position is three years, and the role is expected to be full-time.
