Job Overview:
The Project Coordinator position is primarily focused on supporting the project coordinator for youth initiatives at Gastrolab and the Bakery project coordinator. The role involves developing administrative processes and providing technical oversight for project activities, generating reports that facilitate decision-making to ensure successful project execution. The coordinator will conduct training for implementing partner staff, provide advisory support, and apply various techniques in the field to guarantee the minimum quality standards expected in the creation or rehabilitation of assets, livelihoods, community organization, and all aspects related to project execution throughout the country. The position requires a proactive approach to project management, ensuring that all activities align with WFP's mission and objectives, while also fostering collaboration among team members and stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The main duties and responsibilities of the Project Coordinator include:
  • Developing a personal work plan based on the overall activity plan.
  • Participating in the procurement processes for goods and services necessary for program implementation.
  • Managing payment recognition processes.
  • Monitoring the financial aspects of the project.
  • Coordinating the assignment of roles and responsibilities within the project team.
  • Overseeing the implementation of agricultural projects from planning through execution and evaluation.
  • Monitoring project implementation, follow-up, and evaluation.
  • Analyzing collected data and drawing meaningful conclusions from the project.
  • Supporting the reporting of project activities with graphical visualizations to communicate results to local authorities and sponsors. 1
  • Maintaining and updating online platforms for communication and collaboration with partners and collaborators. 1
  • Exploring new digital tools that can enhance visibility and participation in programs. 1
  • Collaborating in the identification and selection of sustainable and efficient agricultural practices. 1
  • Assisting in the recruitment and training of personnel necessary for program execution. 1
  • Contributing to the creation and updating of methodological guidelines related to program execution. 1
  • Supporting the project coordinator in various tasks. 1
  • Assisting in other activities as requested.

Required Qualifications:
The minimum qualifications required for this position include:
  • A university degree in education, sociology, economics, human resources/psychology, or related fields.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience contributing to program implementation.
  • Experience in developing educational and training modules and plans.
  • Experience in leading teams, directing, and supervising personnel.
  • Proficiency in computer use, particularly Microsoft Office.
  • Willingness to travel and work in various regions of the country.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a university degree in one of the following areas: education, sociology, economics, human resources/psychology, or related fields. This educational background is essential to ensure that the candidate has the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills to effectively contribute to the implementation of programs and manage project activities.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in program implementation. This experience should include a demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage projects, and engage with diverse stakeholders. Candidates should have a proven track record of successfully executing projects, particularly in rural development, agriculture, health, nutrition, or community work.

Languages:
Proficiency in Spanish is mandatory, and knowledge of English is highly desirable. The ability to communicate effectively in both languages will enhance collaboration with international partners and stakeholders, as well as facilitate the dissemination of project results and reports.

Additional Notes:
This position is based in San Salvador, El Salvador, and is expected to be a full-time role. The contract duration is specified under the Special Services Agreement (SSA) terms, with a focus on project-based work until June 202
