Job Overview:
The National Professional Officer position at the WHO Country Office in Juba involves coordinating the technical, administrative, and managerial functions of the office to align with the country's health agenda and the expectations of the UN and WHO. The incumbent will support the WHO Country Representative in managing the office efficiently and effectively. This role requires a proactive approach to ensure that all administrative and operational tasks are completed in a timely manner, facilitating smooth communication and collaboration with various stakeholders, including government partners and international organizations. The position demands a high level of organization, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. The incumbent will also be responsible for preparing briefing documents, managing correspondence, and ensuring compliance with WHO regulations and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the National Professional Officer include coordinating technical, administrative, and managerial support functions for the WHO Country Representative's office. This includes overseeing correspondence and information flow, analyzing information, and ensuring timely follow-up on actions. The incumbent will assist in liaising with various clusters and government partners, perform quality checks on transactions, coordinate meetings, and prepare reports. Additionally, the officer will manage travel arrangements for the Country Representative, support the organization of meetings, maintain updated records of events, and assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual reports. The role also involves supervising the services of the WCO registry and performing any other duties as assigned by the Country Representative.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a First University Degree in public or business administration, economics, social sciences, or related fields. A post-graduate training in management or business administration is desirable. Essential qualifications include at least one year of relevant experience in managing the office of the head of an inter-governmental or international organization. Desirable qualifications include experience within the United Nations system and handling administrative support for high-level delegations. Candidates should demonstrate strong organizational skills, the ability to multi-task, and excellent drafting and communication skills.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a First University Degree in relevant fields such as public or business administration, economics, or social sciences. A post-graduate degree in management or business administration is considered an asset and may enhance the candidate's profile.

Experience:
The position requires at least one year of relevant experience in managing an office within an inter-governmental or international organization. Experience in the United Nations system and in providing administrative support for high-level delegations is desirable. Candidates should have a proven track record of applying administrative and management principles effectively.

Languages:
Expert knowledge of English is essential for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset but is not mandatory.

Additional Notes:
This is a National Professional Officer position, and only applications from nationals of South Sudan will be accepted. The remuneration for this position starts at an annual base salary of USD 39,714, subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance. The position offers 30 days of annual leave.
