Job Overview: The Storekeeper position at WFP is crucial for ensuring the efficient management of warehouse operations. Duties and Responsibilities: The Storekeeper will be responsible for a variety of key accountabilities, including but not limited to:
Receiving and dispatching commodities, ensuring accuracy in physical counts and compliance with established quality standards.
Preparing, verifying, and signing off on warehouse and transport documents, maintaining confidential files, and ensuring accurate transaction records.
Conducting daily warehouse reconciliations and inventory checks to support internal control systems.
Performing inspections and preparing reports on the quality and quantity of commodities, investigating discrepancies, and recommending solutions.
Implementing measures to safeguard food and non-food commodities, ensuring quality control in line with WFP procedures.
Monitoring warehouse conditions and taking actions to optimize space planning and organization.
Providing guidance and on-the-job training to warehouse staff to enhance their skills and performance.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a completion of secondary school education, with a post-secondary certificate in a related functional area being desirable. Additionally, candidates should have four or more years of progressively responsible work experience in logistics, warehouse management, or related fields. Experience in using logistics databases to generate reports and managing inventories is essential. Candidates should also have experience in processing invoices and managing warehouses with food and non-food items (NFIs).
Educational Background: The educational requirement for this position includes the completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate in a relevant field is considered an asset, as it demonstrates a foundational understanding of logistics and warehouse management principles.
Experience: The ideal candidate should have at least four years of progressively responsible experience in logistics and warehouse management. This experience should include familiarity with logistics databases, inventory management, and the handling of food and non-food items. The candidate should also have experience in processing invoices and maintaining accurate records of warehouse transactions.
