Job Overview: The Programme Associate position at UN Women involves providing comprehensive support to the Programme Team in developing and implementing effective initiatives aligned with UN Women’s rules and regulations. The role requires collaboration with various stakeholders, including operations, programme, and project staff across different offices. The Programme Associate will contribute to research, financial management, and program implementation, ensuring that all activities are executed efficiently and effectively. This position is crucial for fostering a mentorship network aimed at enhancing women's economic empowerment and ensuring that the initiatives are impactful and sustainable.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide advanced administrative and logistical support for the mentorship network, including coordinating work plans, budgets, and proposals.
Facilitate engagement among mentors, mentees, and stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
Organize and monitor mentorship activities, including meetings and training sessions, and track progress through data collection and reporting.
Oversee logistical arrangements for mentorship events and coordinate travel for participants.
Support financial management by creating projects in the Quantum system, monitoring budgets, and preparing financial reports.
Assist in the preparation and processing of programme commitments and donor reporting.
Facilitate knowledge sharing by documenting best practices and organizing training for staff and partners.
Perform other duties as necessary for the efficient functioning of the office.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess strong knowledge of programme management, excellent administrative skills, and the ability to synthesize and present information clearly. They should be adept at managing data and documents, have excellent financial and budgeting skills, and be proficient in IT. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and effective communication skills to engage with various stakeholders.
Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree in Development Studies, Public Policy, or a related field is desirable, indicating a higher level of expertise and understanding of the complexities involved in gender equality and women's empowerment initiatives.
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience in administration or programme management/support, particularly focusing on women's economic empowerment. Alternatively, those with a Bachelor’s degree should have at least 4 years of relevant experience. Experience in capacity-building initiatives for women entrepreneurs and familiarity with the Chilean entrepreneurial ecosystem is highly valued. Additionally, experience in coordinating mentorship processes or business advisory programmes for women is considered an asset.
Languages: Fluency in both English and Spanish is required for this position, as effective communication in both languages is essential for engaging with diverse stakeholders and facilitating mentorship activities.
Additional Notes: The position is open to Chilean citizens or foreigners with permanent legal residence and a valid work permit in Chile.
