Job Overview:
The FSL Coordinator plays a crucial role in developing and implementing Solidarités International's strategy in the field of security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Food Security and Livelihoods (FSL). This position is responsible for overseeing the quality and relevance of technical approaches throughout the project cycle, ensuring that activities align with the organization's objectives and the needs of the communities served. The FSL Coordinator also leads all responsibilities related to cash and voucher assistance (CVA), which includes strategy formulation, proposal development, providing technical assistance to programming, and engaging with external stakeholders. The role requires a deep understanding of the humanitarian context in Myanmar and the ability to adapt strategies to meet the evolving needs of vulnerable populations. The initial months will focus on familiarization with the mission and the local context, as well as developing proposals and monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning (MEAL) specific to FSL and cash programming.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The FSL Coordinator's duties and responsibilities include:
  • Developing and proposing a sectoral strategy for Food Security and Livelihoods that aligns with SI's overall mission.
  • Ensuring the quality and relevance of FSL technical approaches throughout the project cycle.
  • Overseeing the implementation of cash and voucher assistance programs, including strategy development and technical support.
  • Engaging with external stakeholders to promote SI's FSL initiatives and secure funding.
  • Conducting assessments and evaluations to inform design" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">program design and implementation.
  • Collaborating with local partners to enhance community engagement and capacity-building efforts.
  • Monitoring and reporting on project progress and outcomes to ensure accountability and learning.
  • Participating in security briefings and adhering to safety protocols during visits to Myanmar.
  • Leading a team of staff and providing guidance and support to ensure effective program delivery.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master's degree or equivalent in Agronomy or Agricultural Sciences, with a strong background in international development or humanitarian assistance, particularly in food, nutrition, and economic recovery. Additionally, candidates should have at least 5 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with a minimum of 3 to 4 years in similar positions. Technical skills in FSL programming and cash programming are essential, along with cross-cutting skills in monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning (MEAL), proposal and strategy development, and external relations and communication.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Master's degree or equivalent in Agronomy or Agricultural Sciences. Candidates should have a solid understanding of the principles of food security and livelihoods, as well as experience in international development or humanitarian assistance.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with at least 3 to 4 years in roles that are similar to the FSL Coordinator position. This experience should include direct involvement in food security and livelihoods programming, as well as cash and voucher assistance initiatives.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position, while proficiency in Burmese is desirable. Knowledge of French is considered an asset, particularly as the portfolio includes funding from French donors.

This position is a short-term contract with a duration of 6 months, starting on October 23rd, 202
  • The role is based in Yangon, Myanmar, with the possibility of travel to Bangkok, Thailand for coordination purposes. The salary for this position starts from EUR 2860 gross per month, which includes a base salary and an annual leave allowance. Additionally, a monthly per diem of USD 700 is provided, along with coverage for accommodation costs and travel expenses. Expatriates will also benefit from a comprehensive insurance package that covers healthcare expenses, including medical, surgical, dental, and repatriation costs. The organization implements a system of breaks during the assignment, allowing for time off every three months, along with an additional rest day for each month worked.
