Job Overview:
The Programme Management - Senior Assistant position is designed to provide essential administrative and operational support for the successful delivery of health programs funded by the Global Fund. The role involves managing program documentation, assisting with project implementation, and coordinating daily project activities and stakeholder communications. The incumbent will work closely with the Senior Programme Manager to ensure effective project monitoring, reporting, and implementation. This position is crucial for maintaining operational workflows, ensuring accurate project records, and facilitating logistics for project events and field visits. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and effective communication with various stakeholders to ensure the smooth operation of health programs.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Programme Management Senior Assistant will perform a variety of duties under the direct supervision of the Senior Programme Manager. Key responsibilities include: assisting in drafting project reports and memos; preparing project communication, documentation, reports, and contracts while ensuring compliance with UNOPS formats; maintaining both hard and computerized records of operational and financial transactions; managing document flow, including file closures and archiving; monitoring project expenditures and verifying the accuracy of requests; preparing briefing materials for project discussions; interacting with colleagues, clients, and partners to exchange information; assisting in the administration and monitoring of project implementation; arranging field visits and coordinating logistics; issuing purchase orders for payments; and organizing meetings, trainings, and workshops. Regular updates and reports to the supervisor are expected, along with maintaining up-to-date records and ensuring efficiency in responding to project needs.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess secondary education as a minimum requirement. A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Economics, or Development Studies is preferred and may substitute for some required years of experience. The role requires a strong understanding of project management principles and practices, as well as proficiency in using office software packages such as MS Office and Google Suite Applications. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to ethical standards and organizational norms, with a focus on diversity and inclusion in the workplace.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes at least secondary education. A Bachelor's degree in relevant fields such as Business Administration, Public Administration, Economics, or Development Studies is considered an asset and may be used to substitute for some of the required experience. This educational foundation is essential for understanding the complexities of project management and operational support in a health program context.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar field or exposure to project management, preferably within an international organization. Experience in administrative roles, particularly in health-related projects or programs, is highly desirable. Familiarity with NGOs and civil society organizations is also beneficial. Proficiency in using computers and office software packages is required, and previous successful involvement in project management will be an advantage.

Languages:
Proficiency in English at an intermediate level is required, while fluency in Burmese is mandatory. Candidates should be able to communicate effectively in both languages to facilitate stakeholder engagement and project implementation.
