Job Overview:
The GeoAnalytics Intern will play a crucial role within the Sustainable Cities GeoAnalytics team, engaging in a variety of data-driven analyses that span across core practice areas. The intern will leverage data, information, and technical expertise to facilitate informed urban infrastructure decisions and design. This position offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with a diverse group of change agents in India's largest urban-focused think tank, contributing to transformative urban initiatives that aim to enhance the quality of life in Indian cities. The intern will be responsible for transforming complex data into actionable insights and solutions that support sustainable city growth, thereby making a positive impact on citizens' everyday lives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will conduct data exploration and quantitative research, providing customized analytical solutions and insights tailored to project requirements. They will work closely with project teams to assess and organize complex data assets from various sources for spatial modeling. The role includes developing and executing Python and Google Earth Engine scripts for data acquisition, processing, and analysis. Additionally, the intern will advise staff and partners on geospatial analyses and visualizations as needed. Technical support responsibilities involve creating data visualization dashboards, interactive web maps, and storyboards that effectively communicate complex data and insights through captivating visual outputs. The intern will also prepare professional visualizations for use in presentations, publications, and online platforms.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in Geography, Environmental Science, Earth Sciences, Geomatics, Geoinformatics, Remote Sensing, or related fields, with a master's degree preferred. A recent graduate or an individual with up to one year of relevant work experience in the Geospatial industry is sought. Proficiency in GIS software, including ESRI ArcGIS Desktop 10.x, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Online, Quantum GIS, MapInfo, or similar tools is essential. Experience with coding, particularly in Python, R, and Javascript, is required, and familiarity with Google Earth Engine is considered a strong advantage. Candidates should also have experience in spatial analysis and modeling, including the use of ArcGIS Spatial Analyst tools, Model Builder, Python scripting, SQL, or equivalent tools, as well as experience handling publicly available GIS datasets and crowd-sourcing platforms such as Open Street Maps and remote-sensing databases.

Educational Background:
The position requires a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Geography, Environmental Science, Earth Sciences, Geomatics, Geoinformatics, or Remote Sensing. A master's degree in one of these fields is preferred, indicating a higher level of expertise and understanding of the subject matter.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should be a recent graduate or have up to one year of relevant work experience in the Geospatial industry. This experience should include practical applications of geospatial analysis and familiarity with the tools and methodologies used in the field.

Languages:
