Job Overview: The Economic Recovery Coordinator position at DRC is a critical role aimed at enhancing the organization's emergency response and durable solutions in Venezuela. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the strategic and operational implementation of the Economic Recovery sector, which includes a focus on food security and livelihoods. This role requires a deep understanding of the local context and the ability to develop innovative strategies that integrate economic recovery with protection, WASH, and disaster preparedness activities. The coordinator will work closely with local partners and field teams to ensure that programs are effectively designed and implemented, while also contributing to the development of proposals and ongoing updates to the Economic Recovery strategy. The position demands a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for collaboration and advocacy, as well as a commitment to building the capacity of local teams and partners.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Economic Recovery Coordinator will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities that include:
Programmatic and Strategic Development: Design, lead, and coordinate the implementation of the Economic Recovery sector strategy. Support the development of proposals and maintain an updated Economic Recovery strategy through regular context analysis. Guide teams and local partners in conducting needs assessments. Lead advocacy initiatives with contextual and technical expertise. Develop and implement innovative strategies, including Nature-Based Solutions and circular economy projects.
Project Management: Ensure quality and compliance with minimum standards in Economic Recovery activities, including entrepreneurship and financial inclusion. Oversee project implementation in line with work plans and financial forecasts. Develop standard operating procedures (SoPs) and guidelines for economic recovery activities. Prepare project and sectoral reports.
Technical Support: Provide technical support to specialists and local partners. Assist in project design, work plans, and budgets. Collaborate with the MEAL team to develop monitoring and evaluation tools. Create capacity-building plans for field teams. Monitor the effective implementation of program activities and budget execution.
Coordination and Representation: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, representing DRC in national forums and ensuring integration of economic recovery activities with other sectors. Coordinate with global and regional sector focal points to enhance the strategic positioning of the Economic Recovery sector in Venezuela.
Required Qualifications: Candidates for the Economic Recovery Coordinator position must possess a range of qualifications, including:
A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in international humanitarian or development assistance organizations, specifically with a focus on economic recovery.
Practical knowledge of effective livelihood support methodologies, including food security, employability, and entrepreneurship.
Familiarity with current trends in economic recovery, such as self-sufficiency and innovative approaches.
Experience in market assessment and analysis, with the ability to develop market-based programs.
Proven ability to provide technical support to operational teams and develop strategic theories of change.
Strong communication, representation, and coordination skills, with proficiency in both English and Spanish.
Educational Background: The position requires a university degree in Social Sciences, International Economy, International Development, or a related field. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of economic recovery and the socio-economic challenges faced by vulnerable populations.
Experience: Candidates should have 3-5 years of relevant experience in the humanitarian or development sector, particularly in roles focused on economic recovery. Demonstrated capacity in capacity building and collaboration with various stakeholders is also essential.

Additional Notes: The Economic Recovery Coordinator position is a full-time role with a contract length of 12 months, subject to budget availability. The salary is classified under Band G, and it is a national contract. The organization provides comprehensive health insurance coverage.
