Job Overview:
The position of International Consultant for Private Sector Engagement at UN Women involves working under the guidance of the Country Representative and the Programme Manager on Women’s Economic Empowerment. The consultant will be responsible for implementing the Private Sector Engagement Strategy (PSES) for Vietnam, which is aligned with UN Women’s global strategy for 2023-202
  • The consultant's primary role will be to enhance partnerships with diverse and inclusive private sector entities to support gender equality and women's empowerment. This includes identifying potential private sector partners, leading due diligence processes, and designing innovative strategies to engage the private sector effectively. The consultant will also be expected to contribute to the development of frameworks that promote women's equal access and participation in various sectors, ensuring that gender considerations are integrated into all policies and practices.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant will undertake several key tasks, including:
  • Identifying large-scale foreign direct investment (FDI) private sector companies interested in investing in Vietnam and suitable for partnerships with UN Women.
  • Leading private sector due diligence in accordance with UN Women’s engagement policies and procedures, which includes preparing approval packages for partnership agreements.
  • Designing and implementing innovative strategies within the UN Women Vietnam Private Sector Engagement strategy, such as an innovation challenge, an interactive digital platform, and events for pipeline cultivation.
  • Providing regular updates and reports on progress to the Country Representative, including activity concept notes and results reports. The consultant will also be expected to demonstrate core values such as integrity, professionalism, and respect for diversity, while engaging effectively with stakeholders and leading by example.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master’s degree or equivalent in Business, Economics, Gender/Women’s Studies, Social Sciences, or a related field. Additionally, they should have at least 8 years of experience in private sector entities, particularly in partnership development, public relations, and business development. A minimum of 5 years of experience in public-private partnership development is required, along with experience in gender equality and women's empowerment. Familiarity with managing government and private sector relations in Vietnam is advantageous. Strong analytical, writing, and presentation skills are essential, as well as the ability to work independently and provide facilitation and support.

Educational Background:
The educational requirement for this position is a Master’s degree or equivalent in relevant fields such as Business, Economics, Gender/Women’s Studies, or Social Sciences.
