Duties and Responsibilities: Interns will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: collaborating in studies focused on science, technology, and innovation policy in Latin America and the Caribbean; conducting research and analysis on productive development policies as required; assisting with administrative tasks related to the Conference on Science, Innovation, and ITC of ECLAC; and supporting the overall mission of ECLAC by contributing to the development of public policies that enhance economic and social development in the region. Interns are expected to engage actively in discussions and contribute ideas that may help shape the direction of ongoing projects.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must meet the following qualifications: (a) be enrolled in or have completed the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor's degree or equivalent); (b) be enrolled in or have completed a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher). While professional work experience is not required for applicants to the UN Internship Programme, a field of study closely related to the internship is necessary. Applicants must also demonstrate basic knowledge or interest in the economics of science, technology, and innovation, as well as possess the ability to manipulate and analyze data, which is desirable for this role.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this internship includes being a student in the final year of a first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), or being enrolled in or having completed a Master’s or Ph.D. program. Candidates must provide proof of their academic status, such as an official certificate, at a later stage of the application process.
Experience: While no professional work experience is required for this internship, candidates should have a strong academic background in a relevant field of study.
