Job Overview: As the Lead Solutions Specialist, you will be responsible for the hands-on technical implementation of Salesforce solutions tailored to the needs of the IRC’s global fundraising staff. This role is crucial in crafting, implementing, deploying, and documenting projects that leverage Salesforce, particularly focusing on enhancing the Nonprofit Success Pack (NPSP). You will engage daily with fundraisers and operations staff to ensure that the Salesforce environment is optimized for nonprofit operations, supporter engagement, and data integrity. Your technical skills, critical thinking, and creativity will be essential in evolving the use of Salesforce within the IRC’s fundraising, operations, and marketing technology teams. You will work closely with various stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions, ensuring scalability and efficiency in operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide expert-level configuration and support within the Salesforce NPSP architecture, including donation management, households, and engagement plans.
Administer and enhance Salesforce NPSP features to meet the requirements of fundraising and supporter engagement.
Collaborate with fundraising and marketing users to translate nonprofit business needs into Salesforce solutions.
Act as the technical lead for Salesforce support and specific enhancement projects.
Serve as a domain expert for solution architecture, including configuration, development, integration, and customization of complex environments.
Support the assessment and resolution of Salesforce cases.
Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the Marketing Technology Team.
Design and develop business solutions using Salesforce declarative programming and administration, working with regional partners to define requirements, build, test, and implement solutions.
Utilize Salesforce Apex programming language, Visual Force, MS tools, API framework, and third-party APIs to enhance user experience and improve operational efficiency.

Architect and develop new solutions using flows, and maintain existing global architecture.

Manage select applications, tools, and plug-ins within the CRM stack, such as gearset, Dataro, ownbackup, Apsona, and Pardot.

Regularly utilize Salesforce reports and dashboards for operational insights, troubleshooting reporting issues as necessary.

Provide technical and administrative support, including sophisticated troubleshooting for end users.

Manage the upgrade and patch process for Salesforce and the CRM application.

Assess third-party solutions available on the Salesforce App Exchange and recommend solutions for the IRC.
Significant professional work experience with CRM and relational databases, preferably in a non-profit context.
Demonstrable development experience with Salesforce.org, SOQL, Visual Force, and other Salesforce-based development tools.
Experience in creating views, stored procedures, and functions.
Proven experience ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations, including secure data management and user consent protocols.
Preferred qualifications include experience in implementing fundraising applications for non-profit organizations, working effectively within an Agile delivery model, and familiarity with web services or application programming interfaces.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a minimum of an Associate’s Degree, with a preference for candidates holding a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering, or equivalent experience in a related field.
Experience: Candidates should possess significant demonstrable professional work experience with CRM systems and relational databases, particularly in non-profit environments. Experience in IT delivery, IT services, and professional services is also essential. Familiarity with Salesforce.org and its development tools is crucial, along with a proven track record of ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Additional language skills may be beneficial but are not specified as requirements.
Additional Notes: This is a remote position, but candidates must be available to work core hours aligned with the Eastern Standard Time (EST) zone. Occasional travel may be required for attendance at relevant Salesforce events and team gatherings.
