Job Overview:
The Website Management Consultancy role is designed to enhance the Education Cannot Wait (ECW) website, which serves as a critical platform for communicating the organization's mission and updates to stakeholders. The consultant will be tasked with developing new features and improving the overall performance of the website to attract users, increase traffic, and ensure that the information provided is current and relevant. This role is pivotal as ECW continues to grow as a global fund for education in emergencies and protracted crises. The consultant will work closely with ECW colleagues and external vendors to ensure that the website aligns with the strategic priorities outlined in ECW's 2023-2026 Strategic Plan, focusing on communication, advocacy, transparency, and accountability. The consultant will also be responsible for ensuring that the website meets UN standards for security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security and accessibility, thereby enhancing user experience for diverse audiences.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including:
  • Feature Development and Integration: Design and implement new functionalities to enhance user accessibility to ECW’s financial and results data. Strengthen integration across digital platforms to improve user experience.
  • Digital Publications and Content Strategy: Enhance the approach to digital publications and reports, ensuring regular content updates and compliance with UN web security standards.
  • Performance Optimization: Conduct analytics to inform content strategy and improve user engagement, including SEO enhancements.
  • User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI): Improve usability and accessibility for global audiences.
  • Compliance and Security: Ensure adherence to UN standards for web security and data protection.
  • Additional Support: Provide technical assistance for website management and functionality improvements. The consultant will also be responsible for delivering specific outputs by set deadlines, including site reviews, analytics reports, and updates to country profiles.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of 7 years of extensive experience in web management and digital content development, particularly within the United Nations or international aid sectors. Proficiency in content management systems, especially Drupal, and web development languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React/Node.js is essential. Experience with business intelligence tools like Tableau and PowerBi, as well as data visualization frameworks, is also required. Strong project management skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders are crucial, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor's degree in Web Development, marketing" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Digital Marketing, Communications, or a related field is required. Alternatively, relevant professional certifications in web programming languages or libraries related to user interface and web design development, combined with a minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience, may be accepted in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.

Experience:
The position requires at least 7 years of relevant experience in web management and digital content development, with a strong emphasis on experience within the UN or international aid sectors. Candidates should demonstrate a proven track record of managing complex web projects and collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory. Proficiency in additional languages, particularly those relevant to UNICEF's global operations, would be considered an asset but is not required.

Additional Notes:
The consultancy is set to last from 15 April 2026 to 14 April 2027, and the position is remote. Candidates must complete their profiles in UNICEF's e-Recruitment system and submit their academic credentials along with a financial proposal detailing costs for each deliverable. UNICEF will cover any emergent travel expenses, and selected candidates must have valid health insurance coverage at the time of contract award. Payment will be contingent upon the satisfactory completion of deliverables, and UNICEF reserves the right to withhold payment if standards are not met. Candidates must also confirm their fully-vaccinated status against COVID-19, although this requirement does not apply to those working remotely.
