Job Overview:
The Equity Funds Team at the EBRD is responsible for managing investments in equity funds and monitoring the associated portfolio. This role is crucial as it involves supporting investment teams throughout the investment cycle, which includes origination, execution, and monitoring of fund investments. The intern will play a significant role in various strategic initiatives and will be involved in internal and external communications to enhance the visibility of the Equity Funds Team. The position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the financial sector, particularly in private equity and venture capital, while working in a dynamic and diverse environment. The intern will be expected to take on responsibilities assigned by senior team members, contributing to the overall success of the team and the EBRD's mission.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will work under the supervision of the Equity Funds team members and will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: assisting with the assessment and screening of new fund investments through research and analysis; contributing to the transaction approval cycle as a deal team member, which involves preparing internal investment memoranda, conducting market research, and performing financial analysis and modeling; coordinating internal and external communications and visibility initiatives across various channels, including social media and the EBRD corporate website; developing compelling content such as press releases and social media posts to promote the Equity Funds Team's work; potentially assisting in organizing conferences relevant to the team's work in emerging markets private equity fund investing; compiling and analyzing data related to markets and individual investment funds; reviewing reports from fund managers and their underlying portfolio companies; drafting documentation for existing projects, including monitoring reports and data analytics; preparing internal management documentation, including database reporting and ad hoc reports; and providing support to operation leaders and senior team members with other ad hoc tasks as required.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree from a leading university in their country of education or be a graduate currently enrolled in a further degree program in economics, finance, or engineering. A strong interest in development finance, the mission of the EBRD, and in private equity, venture capital, or infrastructure funds is essential. Candidates should demonstrate analytical and numerical skills, logical reasoning, and the ability to interpret data accurately. Fluency in English, with strong written and oral communication skills, is mandatory. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly in financial analysis and modeling, is required. Experience in online and offline communications, including content creation for social media platforms and event organization, is also necessary. Candidates should be strong team players, able to integrate into a small multi-national team and effectively liaise with various stakeholders, while managing multiple tasks under pressure.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor’s degree from a reputable university in a relevant field such as economics, finance, or engineering. Additional Notes:
