Job Overview: The LivestockValue ChainAnalyst will play a crucial role in supporting the analysis of in-country and cross-border livestock value chains and zoonoses risks. This position requires the incumbent to lead mapping, communication, collaboration, and capacity-building activities related to livestock value chains. The analyst will work under the supervision of the FAO Representative in Vietnam and the Senior coordinator" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Technical Coordinator of the FAO Emergency Centre for Transboundary Animal Diseases (ECTAD). The role involves generating maps of livestock value chain analysis results, preparing communication materials, and providing technical support for organizing meetings, workshops, and training sessions. The incumbent will also collaborate with project partners to conduct joint analyses and zoonoses risk assessments, ensuring that all communication materials adhere to FAO standards and guidelines.
Duties and Responsibilities: The incumbent will be responsible for planning and conducting in-country and cross-border livestock value chain analysis. This includes generating maps of the analysis results and preparing various communication materials such as social media posts, news articles, and peer-reviewed publications. The analyst will provide technical support and inputs for organizing meetings, workshops, and training related to livestock value chains, traceability, and zoonoses risk assessment. Collaboration with project partners is essential for sharing results and conducting joint analyses of livestock value chains and human movement. The incumbent will also perform other tasks as requested, ensuring compliance with FAO standards and guidelines throughout the process.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in veterinary science, animal science, agriculture, or a related field. Additionally, a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in livestock value chain analysis, epidemiology, animal health, or related areas is required. The position also necessitates a working knowledge of English and Vietnamese, and candidates must be nationals of Vietnam or residents with a valid work permit.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes an advanced university degree in veterinary science, animal science, agriculture, or a related field.
