Job Overview: The Driver position at FHI 360 is crucial for ensuring safe and efficient transportation services for staff and visitors. The individual in this role will be responsible for transporting project staff, consultants, and visitors to designated locations while maintaining the safety, cleanliness, and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security of the vehicle. The Driver will also be tasked with the day-to-day maintenance of the vehicle, ensuring it is in optimal condition for operation. Duties and Responsibilities: The Driver will perform a variety of duties including operating a vehicle to ensure safe transportation of clients, ensuring that all passengers wear seat belts, and adhering to Ethiopian traffic laws. Responsibilities also include conducting daily and pre-long-distance vehicle checks, maintaining accurate vehicle log sheets, and ensuring the vehicle is clean, fueled, and mechanically sound. The Driver will inspect and maintain vehicle accessories, conduct quarterly checks on documentation such as insurance and driving licenses, and assist clients during entry and exit from the vehicle. Additional duties involve planning routes based on schedules or ad-hoc requests, fulfilling special requests for item deliveries, and ensuring compliance with road safety regulations. The Driver may also be required to protect clients in high-risk locations and arrange for major repairs when necessary.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a minimum of secondary school education or equivalent, along with at least 5 years of experience as a driver for a government or international organization. A valid Grade 3 driving license is required, along with a trade test certificate and a clean driving record. Experience in operating four-wheel drive vehicles and large vehicles is preferred.
