The openIMIS initiative has positively impacted over 34 million individuals across 14 countries, enabling access to health insurance, employment injury insurance, cash transfer, and voucher schemes. The intern will play a vital role in promoting the use of openIMIS software, supporting users, implementers, and developers, and coordinating the community of practice surrounding the initiative. Duties and Responsibilities: As a communications intern, you will be tasked with various responsibilities that include contributing to openIMIS' digital communication channels such as its Drupal-based website, social media platforms, and newsletters. You will support the development of engaging communication materials, which may include press releases, fact sheets, videos, impact stories, and case studies. Additionally, you will assist in implementing the internal and external communications strategy for openIMIS, as well as help plan, organize, and follow up on both virtual and physical events. Your role will also involve contributing to knowledge products related to digital transformation and social protection, supporting monitoring and evaluation efforts through data analysis and reporting, and providing general administrative and organizational assistance as needed.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must be current students in fields such as digital media/communications, digital technology/management, journalism, public relations, international development, social sciences, or other related disciplines. A demonstrated interest in communications, knowledge management processes, and data analytics is essential, along with a keen interest in the use and promotion of open-source software and technologies. The ideal candidate should possess a high level of technical competency, including familiarity with or a willingness to learn about Drupal-based websites and content management systems. Strong organizational skills, high-quality written and verbal communication abilities, commitment, team spirit, initiative, and creativity are also required.
Educational Background: The position requires candidates to be currently enrolled as students or to have graduated no longer than six months prior to the start of the internship. This educational background is crucial as it ensures that the intern is equipped with the latest knowledge and skills relevant to the field of digital media and communications.
