Job Overview:
The UN Volunteer - IT Analyst will play a crucial role in managing and implementing the E-Governance component of a project aimed at enhancing environmental sustainability and resilience to climate change in Pakistan. This position requires a proactive individual who can provide high-quality advisory and implementation support, particularly in developing an online dashboard for effective development planning and monitoring. The IT Analyst will be responsible for establishing and maintaining local server setups, managing hardware and software issues, upgrading the project website, ensuring data security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security, and troubleshooting IT-related equipment. The role also involves contributing to the broader objectives of the UNV program by engaging in volunteerism and promoting local forms of volunteerism.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the UN Volunteer - IT Analyst include: managing and implementing the E-Governance component of the project; providing advisory support for the development of an online dashboard; establishing and maintaining local server setups and network policies; overseeing hardware and software issues related to the LAN; upgrading and maintaining the project website; ensuring project data security, integrity, backup, and recovery; troubleshooting IT-related equipment; documenting technical support requests; and fulfilling any additional assignments from the Project Director. The volunteer is also expected to engage in UNV activities, reflect on their voluntary actions, contribute to publications, and assist with the UNV Buddy Programme.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a strong understanding of IT systems and E-Governance practices. They should have experience in managing server infrastructure, network policies, and data security protocols. Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software issues is essential. The ideal candidate should demonstrate adaptability, accountability, and a commitment to continuous learning. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment are also required.

Educational Background:
A degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is required. Additional certifications in IT management, network administration, or cybersecurity would be advantageous. Candidates should have a solid understanding of E-Governance frameworks and practices.

Experience:
The position requires prior experience in IT management, particularly in roles that involve managing server infrastructure, network policies, and E-Governance systems. Experience working in a development context or with international organizations is preferred. Candidates should demonstrate a track record of successfully implementing IT solutions and providing technical support.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, as it is the working language of the UN. Proficiency in Urdu or other local languages would be considered an asset, as it would facilitate communication with local stakeholders and communities.

Additional Notes:
This is a national UN Volunteer assignment, and the volunteer will be responsible for arranging their own housing and living essentials. The UNV Field Unit will assist in opening a local bank account for the volunteer. The position may involve full-time commitment, and the duration of the contract is typically aligned with the project timeline.
