Job Overview:
The User Research Analyst position at WRI Indonesia is designed to enhance the SIINas platform, a digital tool managed by the Ministry of Industry for private sector emissions reporting. This role is pivotal in ensuring that the platform's development is user-centered and responsive to the needs of stakeholders. The analyst will work closely with a team that includes a UI/UX Designer, emission analyst, and product specialist, fostering a collaborative environment. The primary responsibilities include conducting user research and usability testing to identify user pain points, validate product features, and ensure the platform's intuitiveness and accessibility. The analyst will engage with government stakeholders and private sector users to gather insights that will shape the product roadmap, ensuring that the tools developed align with WRI Indonesia's commitment to impactful environmental solutions. This role also involves integrating equity into the workplace and organizational culture, in line with WRI's DEI commitment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The User Research Analyst will focus on three main areas: User Research & Insight Development (70%), Project Support & Documentation (20%), and Stakeholder Engagement & Capacity Building (10%). In the User Research & Insight Development area, the analyst will plan and execute user research activities, identify and engage key user groups, design and conduct various research methods, facilitate usability testing, analyze data, and develop research deliverables. For Project Support & Documentation, the analyst will align research activities with the product roadmap, maintain documentation of research objectives and results, and ensure feedback loops are closed. In Stakeholder Engagement & Capacity Building, the analyst will support outreach efforts to engage users, participate in organizing capacity-building sessions, and ensure ethical participation in research phases.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in psychology, sociology, anthropology, human-computer interaction, design research, or a related field. A minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in user research, UX research, or design research is required. Proven expertise in user research methods, usability testing, and data synthesis for decision-making is essential. Familiarity with research and analysis tools such as Dovetail, Optimal Workshop, Google Forms, and Microsoft Excel is necessary. Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate insights into actionable recommendations for design and product teams are crucial. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, along with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple research projects under tight deadlines.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor’s degree in fields such as psychology, sociology, anthropology, human-computer interaction, design research, or a related discipline. This educational foundation is essential for understanding user behavior and conducting effective research.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in user research, UX research, or design research. Candidates should have a proven track record of managing multiple research projects, demonstrating the ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment while meeting tight deadlines.

Languages:
The mandatory language for this position is English, as the analyst will need to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders. Proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia is also essential, given the local context and the need to engage with Indonesian stakeholders. Additional languages may be considered an asset but are not required.

This position is expected to start immediately and is offered as a part-time, limited-term consultancy contract, lasting until 31 October 202
  • The consultant will be compensated on a daily rate basis, with a maximum of 18 working days per month. Travel insurance will be provided for both domestic and international travel as assigned by WRI Indonesia. Candidates must have authorization to work in Indonesia to be eligible for this position. Final candidates may be required to take a writing test and provide two writing samples when needed. The application deadline is set for 1700 (DKI Jakarta local time) on 11 August 2025, but the position may close earlier if suitable candidates are identified.
