Job Overview: The internship-position" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">internship position is situated within the Environment (ENV) section of the ICAO Air Transport Bureau (ATB). The primary focus of this role is to support UN coordination and outreach efforts related to aviation and environmental issues. The intern will work under the supervision of the director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Deputy Director of Environment and the Chief of Climate Change and Environment Officers. The role involves engaging with various stakeholders, including potential speakers and attendees for ICAO events focused on environmental matters. The intern will assist in developing agendas, programs, presentations, and outreach materials for these events, as well as follow-up activities post-event, which include summarizing events and reporting to relevant ICAO bodies and external parties. The intern will also be responsible for creating documentation and presentations related to ICAO's environmental initiatives and providing content for the ICAO ENV websites associated with these efforts. Additionally, the intern will draft responses to public inquiries regarding ICAO's work in the environmental sector and perform other related duties as assigned.
Duties and Responsibilities: The intern will have a variety of responsibilities, including:
Identifying, contacting, and coordinating with potential speakers and attendees for ICAO events focused on environmental issues.
Supporting the development of event agendas, programs, presentations, and outreach materials.
Assisting with post-event follow-up activities, including summarizing events and reporting to relevant ICAO bodies and external parties.
Developing documentation and presentations related to ICAO’s environmental work.
Providing content for the ICAO ENV websites associated with ICAO’s environmental initiatives.
Drafting replies to public inquiries related to ICAO’s environmental work.
Performing other related duties as assigned by the supervising officers.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must have completed or be enrolled in a graduate degree program (second-level university degree or higher) in a field related to aviation, environment, aeronautical/aerospace engineering, or computer science. For applicants from countries where higher education is not divided into undergraduate and graduate stages, they should have completed at least four years of full-time studies at a university or equivalent institution towards the completion of a degree. This educational background is essential to ensure that the intern has the necessary knowledge and skills to contribute effectively to ICAO's environmental initiatives.

Additional Notes: This internship is unpaid, and all costs related to travel, insurance, accommodation, and living expenses must be covered by the intern. The internship duration ranges from three to six months, with the intern expected to work up to five days a week. Flexible arrangements may be available to accommodate part-time schedules for eligible students, in accordance with current off-campus work regulations. Interns are not permitted to engage in any other form of employment within ICAO during the internship period and are ineligible to apply for or be appointed to any post in the Secretariat or contracted for any other remunerated employment with ICAO for six months following the end of their internship.
