The Revenue and Product Management (RPM) Section, part of the Bureau of Administration and Services (ADB), is dedicated to revenue-generating activities that support ICAO's mission. Job Overview: The intern will play a crucial role in supporting the marketing team within the RPM Section of ICAO. This position involves a variety of tasks aimed at enhancing ICAO's marketing efforts, particularly for its online magazine, UnitingAviation.com. The intern will be responsible for editing and copywriting, curating and drafting articles, and developing engaging social media content to promote ICAO's initiatives. The role requires collaboration with different units within ICAO to ensure cohesive marketing strategies and effective communication of ICAO's products and services. The intern will also assist in creating marketing collateral and adapting existing content for promotional purposes. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in gaining hands-on experience in marketing within an international organization, particularly in the aviation sector.
Duties and Responsibilities: The intern's duties will include providing editing and copywriting support for various ICAO marketing activities, which encompass programs, events, training, and publications. The intern will curate, draft, and format articles for ICAO's online magazine, UnitingAviation.com, ensuring high-quality content that engages the audience. Additionally, the intern will develop social media posts, both organic and sponsored, to promote online content and ICAO TV features. The role also involves creating marketing collateral for RPM products and services, both in digital and print formats. The intern will adapt legacy content for promotional activities and support the establishment of a contributor program aimed at attracting diverse voices in aviation. Researching aviation organizations, publishers, and potential content contributors will be part of the responsibilities, as well as profiling relevant journalists, influencers, and thought leaders in the aviation field. Monitoring and analyzing website and social media analytics will be essential to inform content strategy and improve marketing efforts. The intern may also be required to perform other related duties as needed.
Required Qualifications: Applicants must be currently enrolled in or have recently graduated from a university program in journalism, marketing, communications, public/business administration, political science, or a related field. Essential qualifications include strong writing and editing skills, as well as the ability to curate and format content effectively. Knowledge of digital marketing tools and publishing platforms is desirable, and experience in layout and design would be an asset. The intern should demonstrate professionalism, effective communication skills, teamwork, client orientation, and creativity in their approach to tasks.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this internship includes enrollment in or recent graduation from a university program related to journalism, marketing, communications, public/business administration, political science, or a similar field. This educational foundation is essential for understanding the principles of marketing and communication, which are critical for the intern's role in supporting ICAO's marketing initiatives.

Additional Notes: This internship is unpaid, and all costs related to travel, insurance, accommodation, and living expenses must be borne by the intern. The preferred duration of the internship is six months, with the intern expected to work full-time, five days a week, from 9 AM to 5 PM. This is a hybrid position, requiring at least three days a week in the Montreal office. Interns are not permitted to engage in any other form of employment within ICAO during the internship period and are ineligible to apply for or be appointed to any post in the Secretariat or be contracted for any other remunerated employment with ICAO for six months following the end of their internship. Candidates may need a work permit to work in Canada as an intern.
