Job Overview:
The Individual Giving Assistant plays a crucial role within the Private Sector Partnerships Service (PSP) of UNHCR, which is responsible for mobilizing resources from the private sector to support refugees. This position focuses on individual giving, targeting the general public to secure donations through various channels such as direct mail, face-to-face fundraising, telemarketing, and digital fundraising. The assistant will contribute to the development of the Individual Giving team by providing technical expertise and operational support to maximize donor engagement and retention. The role involves responding to donor inquiries, maintaining donor records, and ensuring high-quality donor care. The assistant will also work collaboratively with various teams and stakeholders to enhance donor satisfaction and support fundraising initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Individual Giving Assistant will be responsible for implementing donor acquisition, retention, and development programs according to approved annual plans. Key duties include providing exceptional donor care through effective communication, managing donor databases, and reporting on progress against work plans and targets. The assistant will assist in developing cross-channel fundraising campaigns, including face-to-face, digital, and direct mail initiatives. Responsibilities also include monitoring donor performance, drafting guidelines and policies for fundraising programs, and supporting the procurement process for vendor relationships. The assistant will work on donor retention strategies, including donor journeys, engagement activities, and communication materials. Additionally, the role involves managing risks and opportunities related to donor relations and ensuring compliance with local regulations and best practices.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of one year of relevant experience in fundraising, sales, client/donor communication, or marketing, along with a High School Diploma or equivalent. A Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field is preferred. Essential qualifications include knowledge of private sector fundraising, experience in maintaining databases, and familiarity with donor communication practices. Desirable qualifications include an understanding of the non-profit sector, project management experience, and proficiency in data analysis and segmentation. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams are essential for success in this role.

Educational Background:
The position requires at least a High School Diploma, with a preference for candidates holding a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Public Administration, Business Administration, or Economics. Relevant certifications or licenses in these areas are also beneficial. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the field of fundraising and donor relations.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have at least one year of relevant experience in a fundraising or sales environment, particularly in donor care or customer service roles. Experience in managing donor records using a customer relationship management (CRM) system is essential. Familiarity with fundraising campaigns, donor acquisition strategies, and data processing is also required. Candidates should have a proven track record of working effectively in a team-oriented environment and possess strong analytical skills to assess donor behavior and program performance.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, and knowledge of French is highly desirable for this position. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in both languages, particularly in donor communication and engagement activities. Understanding of additional languages may be considered an asset but is not required.
