Job Overview: The IT Innovation Intern position is designed to provide students with practical work experience in the field of information technology and innovation within the IAEA. The intern will work closely with the Innovation Lead in the Business Solutions Section of the Division of Information Technology. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about technology and its potential to drive innovation. The intern will engage in research, assist in developing prototypes, and contribute to the establishment of an Innovation Programme that fosters creativity and technological advancement across the organization. This internship aims to enhance the intern's understanding of the IAEA's operations while providing valuable contributions to the agency's innovation efforts.
Duties and Responsibilities: The intern will be responsible for a variety of tasks under the guidance of the Innovation Lead, including: conducting research on existing and emerging technologies relevant to the IAEA's operations; assisting in the development of rapid prototypes and Proof of Concepts (PoC) to evaluate their applicability; participating in workshops and consulting sessions to communicate innovations to business units; contributing to the establishment of an Innovation Programme by providing insights and suggestions; fostering a culture of innovation by proposing new ideas and drafting modifications to current processes and policies; and supporting ongoing projects and activities within the Business Solutions Section.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Design, or Behavioral Science. They should have exposure to a wide range of technologies within the IT domain and demonstrate a proven ability to learn new skills quickly. The ideal candidate should also have the capability to visualize, share, and present information effectively. Familiarity with technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, and Augmented/Virtual Reality is considered beneficial for this role.
Educational Background: The position requires candidates to have completed at least three years of full-time studies at a university or equivalent institution towards a first degree. Candidates who have recently graduated, having completed their bachelor's, master's, or doctorate degree within the last year, are also eligible to apply. This educational background ensures that the intern has a solid foundation in relevant fields of study that align with the responsibilities of the internship.
