Job Overview:
The Analyst position at the World Bank involves working within the Corporate Procurement Department, which is responsible for managing procurement functions globally. The role requires a deep understanding of category management strategies and practices, as well as the ability to lead sourcing initiatives from identifying business needs to contract closeout. The Analyst will collaborate with business partners and advise colleagues on procurement policies, ensuring compliance with the World Bank Group's standards. The position is crucial for delivering high value for money in procurement processes and requires strong negotiation skills, market research capabilities, and the ability to develop innovative solutions for complex procurement challenges. The Analyst will also focus on sustainability and risk management in procurement practices, contributing to the overall mission of the World Bank.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Analyst include leading sub-category management and sourcing initiatives, understanding client needs, collaborating on procurement plans, conducting market research, developing vendor evaluation criteria, managing the bidding process, negotiating contract terms, monitoring vendor performance, and ensuring compliance with procurement policies. The Analyst will also provide guidance to Project Managers on contract management issues, design innovative solutions for solicitations, and maximize sustainability impacts through sourcing processes. Frequent interaction with WBG staff and supplier representatives is expected, along with potential travel and schedule adjustments due to time zone differences.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Professional certifications such as CPSM or CIPS are highly desirable. A minimum of five years of relevant experience in category management and sourcing complex procurements is required, along with knowledge of international procurement practices and public/private sector procedures. Candidates should have extensive experience in developing category strategies, strong negotiation skills, and knowledge of sustainable procurement trends. Strong interpersonal, analytical, and project management skills are essential, as well as the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field, such as business administration, procurement, or supply chain management. Recognized professional certifications in procurement or supply chain management are also advantageous and may enhance a candidate's qualifications.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of five years of relevant experience in category management and sourcing, particularly in complex procurement environments. Candidates should have experience working in international organizations or multinational companies, with a strong understanding of corporate-level service procurement.

Languages:
The mandatory language for this position is English. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset, particularly if they are relevant to the regions in which the World Bank operates.
