Job Overview: The internship-position" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">internship position within the Partnership for Energy Efficiency in Buildings (PEEB) is designed to support the transition towards a zero-emission and resilient built environment. The intern will be involved in various aspects of the PEEB initiative, which includes providing financing solutions for construction and renovation projects that have a substantial climate impact. The intern will work specifically with PEEB Cool and PEEB Climate Finance Incubator (CFI), contributing to the development and implementation of projects that aim to enhance energy efficiency in buildings. This role will require the intern to engage in research, communication, and administrative tasks, thereby gaining valuable experience in the fields of energy efficiency, climate policy, and sustainable development.
Duties and Responsibilities: The intern will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: supporting team members with specific programme or country requests, preparing standard services, and conceptualizing work packages. Administrative duties will include minute-taking, maintaining records, and tracking project documentation. The intern will also be tasked with presenting project results through various communication channels such as social media and websites, collaborating with the PEEB team and external consultants. Research responsibilities will involve gathering information on Green Buildings for PEEB publications, preparing presentations, and contributing to PEEB's participation in climate conferences and international energy meetings. Additionally, the intern will assist in organizing webinars and donor meetings, as well as updating partnership monitoring activities and operational plans.
Required Qualifications: Candidates should possess strong analytical thinking abilities, excellent writing skills, and a keen interest in social media and creativity. A passion for the built environment is essential. The ideal candidate will have studies in a relevant field, particularly focusing on energy efficiency, climate and sustainability in buildings, urban planning, or communications for sustainability. Knowledge of international energy and climate challenges in the buildings sector is crucial, along with a basic understanding of development cooperation. Experience with social media, graphic design, or communications is considered an asset. The candidate should be a proactive team player with strong organizational skills to manage tasks independently.
Educational Background: The position requires candidates to be currently enrolled as students or to have graduated no longer than six months prior to the start of the internship. This educational background should ideally be in fields related to energy efficiency, climate and sustainability in buildings, urban planning, or communications for sustainability.
Experience: The internship is designed for individuals who may not have extensive professional experience but possess relevant academic knowledge and skills. Experience with social media, graphic design, or communications is beneficial but not mandatory. The focus is on candidates who are proactive, curious, and willing to learn in a professional environment.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory for this position, as it is the primary language of communication within the organization. Knowledge of additional languages such as French or Spanish, as well as German, is considered an asset and may enhance the candidate's profile.
