Job Overview: This position involves the development of a spatial prioritization plan aimed at implementing specific projects under the UNDP's framework in Cuba. Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct a thorough analysis of existing spatial data relevant to the project.
Engage with local stakeholders, including government agencies, community organizations, and other relevant parties, to gather input and feedback on the prioritization plan.
Develop a comprehensive spatial prioritization plan that outlines key areas for intervention based on data analysis and stakeholder input.
Prepare detailed reports and presentations summarizing findings, methodologies, and recommendations for the UNDP and stakeholders.
Collaborate with UNDP staff to ensure that the plan aligns with broader organizational goals and strategies.
Monitor and evaluate the implementation of the prioritization plan, making adjustments as necessary based on feedback and changing circumstances.
Provide technical support and guidance to stakeholders during the implementation phase of the plan.
Ensure that all work is conducted in accordance with UNDP policies and procedures, including ethical standards and sustainability considerations.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present findings clearly to diverse audiences.
Experience working with government agencies and community stakeholders in a development context.
Familiarity with UNDP's mission and development goals is an asset.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively under tight deadlines.
Educational Background: A minimum of a Master's degree in Geography, Environmental Science, Urban Planning, or a related field is required. Additional certifications in GIS or spatial analysis are highly desirable. Candidates with a Bachelor's degree may be considered if they have extensive relevant experience in the field.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in spatial analysis, GIS, or related fields is required. Experience working on development projects, particularly in a UN or international context, is preferred. Candidates should demonstrate a track record of successfully developing and implementing spatial plans or similar projects.
Languages: Fluency in Spanish is mandatory, as the position requires communication with local stakeholders and the preparation of documents in Spanish. Proficiency in English is also desirable, as it may be necessary for reporting and communication with UNDP officials and international partners.
Additional Notes: The contract duration for this position is 90 days, starting from the signing of the contract. This is a full-time position, and the contractor is expected to dedicate their time fully to the project during this period. The position is open to both national and international candidates, and compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
