Job Overview: The position of Creative Producer is a consultancy role aimed at designing and producing a series of short explainer videos that utilize AI technology. These videos will focus on key development themes relevant to West and Central Africa, such as climate resilience, security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">food security, youth engagement, displacement, and peacebuilding. The primary objective is to create engaging, thematic, and narrative-driven content that effectively communicates important messages to inform and mobilize partners and the public. The consultant will be responsible for ensuring that the videos not only educate but also advocate for the role of volunteers in addressing broader development challenges. The videos will be a blend of animation, AI-enhanced storytelling, and real imagery, showcasing the impact of UN Volunteers in the region.
Duties and Responsibilities: The selected consultant will undertake the following duties and responsibilities:
Co-design and produce a total of five (5) short explainer videos, each lasting between 1 to 3 minutes.
Develop a clear narrative structure for each video that reflects regional realities and employs cinematic storytelling techniques.
Integrate animated or AI-generated elements with real images or footage, which will be provided or sourced collaboratively.
Ensure the inclusion of voiceover, sound design, subtitles, and branding elements that align with UNV and UN standards.
Subtly position UN Volunteers' contributions within the broader development ecosystem, highlighting their role as enablers in the context of the themes addressed in the videos.
Collaborate with UNV to ensure that the content meets strategic outreach and advocacy goals.
Required Qualifications: The ideal candidate for this consultancy role should possess the following qualifications:
Proven experience in video production, particularly in creating explainer videos or similar content.
Strong understanding of AI technologies and their application in video production.
Excellent storytelling skills, with the ability to craft engaging narratives that resonate with diverse audiences.
Familiarity with development themes relevant to West and Central Africa, including climate change, food security, and youth engagement.
Proficiency in video editing software and tools, as well as experience with animation and sound design.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
Educational Background: Candidates should have a relevant educational background, ideally holding a degree in film production, multimedia arts, communications, or a related field. Advanced degrees or specialized training in video production or digital media will be considered an asset.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in video production, with a strong portfolio showcasing previous work in creating explainer videos or similar projects. Experience working with international organizations or in the development sector is highly desirable.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, as all communications and video content will be produced in English. Knowledge of additional languages relevant to the West and Central African region would be considered a plus, enhancing the ability to reach a broader audience.
Additional Notes: This consultancy role is home-based and is expected to last for a duration of 4 months. The proposal must be submitted directly through the UNDP supplier portal by the specified deadline.
