Job Overview:
The logistics-officer" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Logistics Officer is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day fleet management and general logistics needs related to programmatic activities. This includes movement tracking, asset management, warehouse and inventory management, procurement, and other tasks as assigned. The position requires close collaboration with the regional office senior logistics officer and technical reporting to the CR Logistics Coordinator. The Logistics Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring that logistical operations run smoothly, supporting the overall mission of FHI 360 in providing humanitarian assistance. The job holder will be expected to manage procurement tasks, coordinate with suppliers and vendors, maintain accurate inventories, supervise warehouse and fleet management, and ensure compliance with FHI 360’s standards and guidelines. Additionally, the officer will be involved in training and supporting warehouse assistants and drivers, ensuring that all logistics operations are conducted efficiently and effectively.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Logistics Officer will have a comprehensive set of duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to: assisting in all procurement tasks as per FHI 360’s Procurement Handbook; liaising with suppliers and vendors for timely delivery of goods; raising Purchase Requests (PR) and online receptions; collecting quotations and preparing bid analyses; preparing payment requests for logistics-related activities; ensuring accuracy of all inventories; supervising warehouse and fleet management; coordinating with field offices to record and update inputs and data; ensuring that no materials are taken out of the logistics area without prior authorization; preparing monthly reports that include equipment inventory and vehicle follow-up; supporting warehouse management and stock movement; communicating with staff to schedule vehicle movements; applying vehicle management operating procedures; monitoring the physical security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security of motorized assets; performing regular diagnostic checks; coordinating vehicle customs clearance; maintaining records related to fleet operations; and developing tools for efficient planning and movement follow-up.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a comprehensive knowledge of office equipment, electrical and mechanical systems, and strong knowledge of office and procurement standards and practices. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer software. The ability to prioritize assignments, work well with others, and read and understand blueprints is also required. The candidate should demonstrate problem-solving skills and the ability to exercise judgment within defined policies and procedures to obtain solutions and perform duties effectively.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s Degree or international equivalent in Business Administration, Logistics Management, or a related field is required for this position. This educational background provides the necessary foundation for understanding the complexities of logistics and supply chain management in a humanitarian context.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have 3-5 years of experience providing logistical support in an office setting. Experience in a non-governmental organization (NGO) is preferred, as it provides insight into the unique challenges and requirements of humanitarian logistics. Vocational or specialized training in logistics or related fields is also desired, enhancing the candidate's qualifications for the role.

Languages:
Fluency in the local language is mandatory, along with excellent proficiency in English. This bilingual capability is crucial for effective communication with local stakeholders and international teams, ensuring that logistics operations are conducted smoothly and efficiently.

This position may involve less than 10% travel and is typically situated in a typical office environment. The job may require long hours of computer work and the ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
