Job Overview: The Associate Payments Business Analyst position at the EIB involves conducting business analysis to implement and maintain critical software solutions. This role is essential for providing expertise in business requirements analysis, process analysis, solution design, and software configuration to meet the organization's digitalization, technology security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security, and regulatory needs. The position requires regular office presence at the EIB headquarters in Luxembourg and offers the opportunity to work in a truly international and multi-cultural environment. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Unit and will collaborate with colleagues across various directorates to ensure the successful implementation of projects under the Digital Ambition programme. The role also allows for regular telework, provided that the Bank’s telework policy is respected.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Associate Payments Business Analyst include collaborating on business projects by providing business support to ensure their realization within the set scope, time, and budget. The analyst will act as a Business Analyst on complex business or IT projects, particularly in the areas of Lending and Treasury/Borrowings. Responsibilities include participating in workshops to understand project goals and workflows, reviewing technical documentation, reporting on application developments, and providing first-level user support. The analyst will also gather user requirements, execute User Acceptance Tests (UAT), and collaborate in organizing training sessions as needed. Additionally, the analyst will build and maintain relationships with counterparts from other EIB Group Directorates and represent the unit in working groups and transversal initiatives.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a university degree equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree, ideally in information technology, mathematics, or finance. A minimum of three years of relevant professional experience is required, preferably in the financial sector or business consulting as a Business Analyst or Project Manager. Candidates should have a good understanding of payment market standards, particularly the latest ISO 20022 standards, and experience with payment and reconciliation software such as ION Wallstreet D&C, SWIFT Alliance Access, or similar platforms. Knowledge of financial instruments and back-office processes related to Borrowings, Treasury, or Lending is essential. Familiarity with financial back-office software and experience in IT projects involving business rules automation is advantageous. Strong presentation, communication, and coordination skills are also required.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a university degree, ideally in fields related to information technology, mathematics, or finance. This foundational knowledge is crucial for understanding the complexities of business analysis and software solutions in the financial sector.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of three years of relevant professional experience. This experience should ideally be in the financial sector or in business consulting roles, specifically as a Business Analyst or Project Manager. Candidates should demonstrate a solid understanding of payment market standards and have practical experience with relevant software and financial processes.
Languages: Proficiency in English is mandatory, and a good command of French is also required. Knowledge of other EU languages would be considered an advantage. Proficiency in both English and French is essential for career development within the EIB, as both languages are official working languages of the organization.
Additional Notes: This is a full-time position at grade 4, and the EIB offers a permanent contract. The anticipated timeline for panel interviews is July/August.
