Job Overview: The position of Online Volunteer for the Maza platform involves reviewing the current version of the platform to enhance its functionality and user experience. The Maza platform is designed to support adolescents and young people in Mozambique, particularly those who may lack foundational digital skills. Duties and Responsibilities:
System Audit and Analysis: Conduct a performance review of the Maza platform, analyzing metrics such as load times, user engagement, and error rates. Assess feature utilization to understand user preferences and needs.
User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) Enhancements: Conduct usability testing to observe user interactions and identify usability issues. Update the user interface to improve aesthetics, navigation, and accessibility based on usability test results. Ensure the system meets accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) for users with disabilities.
Technical Improvements: Conduct a thorough code review to identify and fix bugs, optimize performance, and enhance security. Ensure seamless integration with other systems and update APIs or third-party services as needed. Improve the system's scalability to handle increased user load and data volume.
Security and Compliance: Perform a security audit to identify vulnerabilities and implement necessary security measures. Ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
Required Qualifications: Candidates should possess strong analytical skills, experience in UX/UI design, and familiarity with web development technologies. Knowledge of accessibility standards and data protection regulations is essential. Volunteers should have a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently while collaborating with the UNICEF team.
