Job Overview: The Manager (Scale-Up) for Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) at WJCF will play a crucial role in leading the expansion of T1D care across 3-5 states in India. This position requires a highly motivated individual with exceptional strategic thinking and stakeholder management skills. The Manager will be responsible for developing a strategic roadmap for scaling up the T1D program, which aims to improve access to quality care for individuals living with T1D. The role involves engaging with government stakeholders, leading cross-functional teams, and ensuring the successful implementation of program activities. The Manager will also be expected to document and disseminate learnings from the scale-up experience, contributing to the broader initiatives in the non-communicable diseases segment. This position is pivotal in addressing the urgent need for improved T1D care in India, where the incidence of the disease is rising and survival rates remain low.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop a strategic roadmap and implementation plan for scaling up WJCF’s T1D program across 3-5 additional states, ensuring a deep understanding of current program operations and stakeholder engagement.
Build, mentor, and guide a team to anchor the implementation of programmatic activities in the scale-up states.
Cultivate and develop deep engagement with health leadership in the scale-up states to jointly develop and implement sustainable pathways for T1D service delivery through the public health system.
Support health leadership in monitoring and evaluating program activities to track progress and inform decision-making.
Identify potential risks and challenges to the implementation and roll-out of scale-up activities, planning and implementing suitable mitigation mechanisms.
Document and disseminate learnings from the scale-up experience through articles, conferences, workshops, and other events.
Support program leadership in overall grant management, including the development of progress briefs, budget management, and representation at events.
Build and maintain trust-based relationships with relevant government stakeholders and development partners.

Support broader initiatives in the non-communicable diseases segment, including scoping, knowledge development, proposal development, and communication briefs.

Assist with other responsibilities as requested by program leadership.
Required Qualifications:
Master’s or bachelor’s degree in management, public health, public policy, or other relevant fields.
Work experience of 8+ years in public health, management consulting, public policy, or related areas.
Experience working with government stakeholders and familiarity with the public health system is essential.
Proven performance in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
Willingness to travel extensively within and outside the program geography in India.
