Job Overview:
The Research Analyst for the Essential Medicines and Oxygen (EM&O2) program will play a crucial role in supporting the Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) efforts of the initiative. This position involves close collaboration with the national lead for EM&O2 M&E and state teams to assist in study design and data management tasks. The Research Analyst will be responsible for developing data collection formats for pilot projects, conducting data analysis and visualizations, and supporting research writing efforts. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and data management skills, along with excellent communication abilities. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Research Analyst will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including:
  • Collaborating with the M&E lead to design and develop questionnaires and data collection tools, as well as methodologies for surveys and evaluations.
  • Collecting and compiling data from various secondary sources, including government databases and surveys.
  • Participating in primary data collection and conducting assessment visits.
  • Performing data quality checks to ensure consistency and completeness, addressing any discrepancies with the teams involved.
  • Managing large datasets, including cleaning and organizing data from multiple sources.
  • Analyzing and interpreting data using statistical tools, including descriptive and inferential statistics.
  • Preparing analytical reports and visualizations to communicate findings effectively to stakeholders.
  • Regularly updating the M&E dashboard and reporting frameworks for ongoing projects.
  • Supporting capacity-building activities related to data management and analysis for internal team members. 1
  • Assisting with additional responsibilities as requested by program leadership.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree or higher in public health, statistics, data analytics, development studies, or a related field. Additionally, at least 4 years of relevant work experience in data management for public health programs or related areas is required. The ideal candidate should have proven experience in handling large datasets and conducting statistical analysis, as well as demonstrable skills in data management and analysis software such as Excel, STATA, R, and Tableau. Experience in developing quality reports and publications is also essential. Strong oral and written communication skills in both English and Hindi are mandatory, along with the ability to create persuasive presentations and reports. Interpersonal skills are crucial for collaboration in a diverse and fast-paced environment, and the ability to navigate complex processes and influence decision-making is highly valued.

Educational Background:
The position requires a Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field such as public health, statistics, data analytics, or development studies. This educational background is essential to ensure that the candidate possesses the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively contribute to the EM&O2 program's objectives.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience in data management, particularly in programs related to public health or public policy. This experience should include handling large datasets, conducting statistical analyses, and working with various data management tools and software. Familiarity with the Indian public health system and experience working with government stakeholders will be considered an advantage.

Languages:
Proficiency in English and Hindi is mandatory for this position. The ability to communicate effectively in both languages is crucial for creating reports, presentations, and collaborating with diverse stakeholders. Additional language skills may be beneficial but are not required.
