Job Overview:
As an IT Officer (security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Information Security) at ADB, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding the organization's information assets and ensuring compliance with established security standards. You will be part of the Cybersecurity and Compliance Unit within the Information Technology Department, where you will be responsible for developing and implementing data protection strategies that align with ADB's overall risk management framework. Your role will involve leading risk assessments, establishing data protection goals, and ensuring the effectiveness of the information protection program. You will also be tasked with monitoring compliance with security policies and providing guidance on best practices for data protection across the organization. This position requires a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks related to information security, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders to promote a culture of security awareness within ADB.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead the data protection risk assessment process and provide subject matter expertise for ADB's IT projects.
  • Protect the confidentiality and integrity of ADB's information assets and maintain security policies at the governance level.
  • Collaborate with other ITD teams to develop technology strategies for policy implementation.
  • Design and oversee the data protection awareness program for employees, contractors, partners, and other third parties.
  • Oversee data security assurance verification against established security baselines and report on findings.
  • Manage the execution of data protection measures to ensure all evidence is adequately maintained.
  • Propose changes to existing data protection policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Contribute to the development of a security program that addresses identified risks and business security requirements.
  • Ensure that security-related audit findings are addressed promptly. 1
  • Provide input in developing budget projections based on short- and long-term goals and objectives. 1
  • Perform other tasks as assigned and reflected in your workplan.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in information security, IT assurance, management, business, or a related field, preferably with advanced training.
  • At least 8 years of relevant professional experience in general IT operations, with a minimum of 3 years in IT assurance or data protection.
  • Technical skills and experience in the rollout and operation of data protection solutions.
  • Proficiency in risk reporting related to data protection.
  • Familiarity with information security frameworks and standards, such as ISO2700
  • Experience in developing and participating in user awareness programs on information security.
  • Conducting information security assurance reviews.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor's degree in information security, IT assurance, management, business, or any related field is required. Advanced training in relevant areas is preferred, indicating a commitment to ongoing professional development and expertise in the field of information security.

Experience:
Candidates should possess at least 8 years of relevant professional experience in general IT operations, with a specific focus on IT assurance or data protection for a minimum of 3 years. This experience should demonstrate a solid understanding of information security principles, risk management, and the implementation of data protection measures within an organizational context.

Languages:
Written and verbal proficiency in English is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset, enhancing communication with diverse stakeholders within the organization and across member countries.
