Job Overview: The E T Consultant for Inclusive Supply Chains will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing IFC's inclusive supply chains program. This position is situated within the Gender and Economic Inclusion Department (GEID) and focuses on enhancing women's economic opportunities through innovative advisory and investment mechanisms. The consultant will lead initiatives aimed at boosting women's entrepreneurship in supply chains by facilitating access to finance, markets, and capacity building. The role involves close collaboration with various teams within IFC to ensure the successful delivery of programs and the development of new investment instruments targeting women entrepreneurs in trade and supply chains. The consultant will also be responsible for scaling the Sourcing2Equal program and developing gender-lens supply chain financing solutions, thereby contributing to the overarching goals of IFC's 2030 Roadmap on Gender and Economic Inclusion.
Duties and Responsibilities: The consultant's duties will encompass a wide range of responsibilities, including: 1) Leading the global delivery of the Sourcing2Equal program, working closely with the Supply Chains Lead and industry teams to design and implement the next phase of the program. 2) Conducting business development activities to expand the program's reach. 3) Collaborating with financial services companies to deploy solutions for scaling gender-lens supply chain finance. 4) Developing tailored advisory interventions for private sector companies to enhance access for Women Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (WMSMEs). 5) Managing specific projects in Colombia and Kenya, ensuring effective delivery of corporate peer learning events and capacity building solutions. 6) Supporting the internal innovation process to identify opportunities for increasing access to finance and markets for WMSMEs. 7) Structuring project work plans, preparing Terms of Reference for consultants, and monitoring program results. 8) Building and maintaining stakeholder relationships to implement the Sourcing2Equal program effectively. 9) Coordinating research and knowledge management efforts related to women's entrepreneurship and access to markets. 10) Developing communication materials and maintaining a communications calendar for related activities.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a strong background in economics, finance, or international development, with a Master's degree in a relevant field. They should have a minimum of 10-12 years of relevant work experience, including at least 5 years in management consulting or advisory roles. Expertise in responsible sourcing, supplier diversity, and gender engagements with the private sector is essential. Candidates should demonstrate a proven track record of managing projects and integrating multidisciplinary teams. Excellent project management skills, strong interpersonal abilities, and the capacity to interact confidently with clients and stakeholders are crucial. Proficiency in English and Spanish is mandatory, with additional languages being advantageous.
Educational Background: A Master's degree in business, finance, marketing, economics, or international development is required for this position. This educational background should provide the candidate with a solid foundation in the principles of economic development and the complexities of gender issues within the private sector.
Experience: The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in implementing gender-smart solutions within the private sector, with a focus on supply chain sustainability and corporate procurement. A minimum of 10-12 years of relevant work experience is required, including significant experience in management consulting or advisory roles. Candidates should have a demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and engage effectively with a variety of stakeholders, including government officials and private sector clients.
Languages: Fluency in English and Spanish is required for this position, as these languages are essential for effective communication within the organization and with external partners. Proficiency in French is considered a plus, as it may enhance the candidate's ability to engage with a broader range of stakeholders in various regions.
Additional Notes: This position is a one-year appointment, with the possibility of renewal at the discretion of the World Bank Group. The consultant is expected to follow a hybrid work practice, spending four days in the office.
