Job Overview:

The assignment is set to take place from August 2025 to December 2025, during which the consultant will be expected to engage in various tasks related to procurement management, including but not limited to the development of procurement strategies, evaluation of bids, and ensuring compliance with UNDP policies. The consultant will also be responsible for communicating with stakeholders and providing updates on procurement progress, ensuring transparency and efficiency throughout the process.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Programme Management Consultant include:
  • Developing and implementing procurement strategies that align with UNDP's goals and objectives.
  • Evaluating bids and proposals submitted by suppliers and contractors, ensuring that they meet the required standards and criteria.
  • Collaborating with various stakeholders, including UNDP staff and external partners, to facilitate effective procurement processes.
  • Ensuring compliance with UNDP procurement policies and procedures throughout the procurement lifecycle.
  • Providing guidance and support to UNDP teams on procurement-related matters, including best practices and lessons learned.
  • Preparing reports and documentation related to procurement activities, including bid evaluations and contract awards.
  • Engaging in capacity-building initiatives to enhance the procurement skills of UNDP staff and partners.
  • Responding to inquiries and requests for clarification from potential bidders and suppliers.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the performance of suppliers and contractors to ensure that they deliver quality goods and services as per the contract terms.

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for the Programme Management Consultant position include:
  • A strong understanding of procurement processes and best practices, particularly within the context of international development organizations.
  • Proven experience in managing procurement activities, including bid evaluations and contract negotiations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex procurement scenarios and make informed decisions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders.

Educational Background:

Experience:

Languages:

This position is offered as an individual contractor role, which means that the consultant will work on a contractual basis rather than as a full-time employee of UNDP. The contract duration is from August 2025 to December 2025, and the consultant will work remotely from their home location.
