Job Overview:
The Graphic Design and Content Creation Intern will play a crucial role in supporting the Conscious Food Systems Alliance (CoFSA) by creating visually engaging materials that align with UNDP’s branding and CoFSA’s visual identity. This position involves designing graphics for social media, newsletters, presentations, and other communication materials. The intern will assist in producing digital content, including animations and videos, and will be responsible for translating complex data into visually digestible formats. The role also includes managing CoFSA’s social media presence, supporting outreach campaigns, and contributing to research on visual communication best practices. The intern will work closely with the CoFSA Lead Technical Advisor and will be expected to engage with various stakeholders to amplify CoFSA’s voice and visibility.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern's duties will include:
  • Graphic Design and Content Creation: - Designing visually engaging materials for internal and external use, including social media graphics, newsletters, brochures, infographics, and presentations. - Providing creative support for team presentations and campaign visuals. - Producing digital materials such as illustrations and animations. - Editing and creating video content using Adobe Creative Suite. - Translating complex data into visually digestible formats.
  • Communications Support: - Managing and curating CoFSA’s social media presence. - Supporting outreach campaigns for the Global Conscious Food Systems Summit in Bhutan. - Researching narratives and visuals to enhance CoFSA’s visibility. - Monitoring social media performance metrics to optimize content.
  • Outreach and Data Visualization: - Designing and laying out CoFSA's newsletters and reports. - Maintaining contact databases and community engagement trackers. - Supporting data collection and analysis for storytelling and presentations.
  • Other Responsibilities: - Researching best practices in visual communication for food systems. - Providing logistical support for communication activities and webinars. - Contributing to organizational and knowledge management tasks.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must meet the following qualifications: - Be enrolled in the final year of a Bachelor’s degree or in a graduate program in Graphic Design, Communications, Digital Arts, Multimedia, Marketing, Journalism, or related fields. - Alternatively, candidates who have graduated within the last year with a relevant degree are also eligible. - Experience in online and digital communications, social media content creation, and communication campaigns is required. - Prior experience with organizations focused on sustainable development, food systems, or social change is advantageous.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes: - Enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program (minimum level) or a graduate program in relevant fields such as Graphic Design, Communications, Digital Arts, Multimedia, Marketing, or Journalism. - Candidates who have graduated with a relevant degree within the last year are also eligible to apply, provided they can start the internship within one year of graduation.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have experience in online and digital communications, journalism, mass media, and social media. Prior experience with content creation and communication campaigns is essential. Experience working with organizations focused on inner development, consciousness, sustainable development, or food systems is considered a plus, indicating a preference for candidates who have a background in these areas.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in another UN official language is considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's profile and ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.

Additional Notes:
The internship is unpaid, but UNDP may provide a stipend in accordance with its internship policy. Interns are responsible for securing their own medical insurance and workspace, whether working in-person or remotely. There is no expectation of employment with UNDP following the internship, and interns cannot apply for any positions during their internship period. Interns are considered gratis personnel and are not staff members, meaning they cannot represent UNDP in any official capacity.
