Job Overview:
The intern position at UN Women Uzbekistan is designed to support the organization's mission of advancing gender equality and women's empowerment. The intern will play a crucial role in facilitating various tasks that contribute to the development and implementation of programs within the country. The intern will be involved in preparing meeting materials, creating content for social media, and assisting with translations, thereby enhancing their understanding of the operational aspects of international development work.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will be responsible for a variety of tasks that include:
  • Taking detailed minutes during meetings to ensure accurate records of discussions and decisions made.
  • Preparing talking points for approximately 10-15 meetings, which will assist in guiding discussions and presentations.
  • Producing engaging social media content for UN Women Uzbekistan's platforms, with a target of creating around 10-15 pieces of content that highlight the organization's initiatives and events.
  • Providing translation support for written documents, ensuring that materials are accessible to a wider audience, with a goal of translating about 10-15 documents.
  • Conducting market analysis for consultancies to inform decision-making and strategy development within the organization.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates should possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and demonstrate an ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is essential. The ideal candidate should also have a keen interest in gender issues and a commitment to the values of UN Women. Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively are crucial for success in this role.

Educational Background:
A background in social sciences, international relations, gender studies, or a related field is preferred. Candidates should be currently enrolled in a degree program or have recently graduated, demonstrating a solid understanding of gender equality issues and the workings of international organizations.

Experience:
While prior experience is not mandatory, any relevant internships, volunteer work, or academic projects related to gender equality, social justice, or international development will be considered an asset. The intern should be eager to learn and willing to take on new challenges in a dynamic work environment.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, and proficiency in Uzbek or Russian is highly desirable. Knowledge of additional languages would be considered a plus, as it may enhance communication with diverse stakeholders.
