Job Overview:
This position involves consultancy work focused on the analysis and enabling of information and data regarding LGBTI themes in Colombia. The consultant will be expected to conduct thorough data analysis, statistical processing, and work with various data sources such as household surveys and administrative records. The role requires a strong understanding of sexual and gender diversity issues, and the ability to construct dashboards and perform comparative analysis using statistical software such as R, Python, or Stata. The consultancy is expected to last for five months, during which the consultant will provide insights and recommendations based on the data analyzed, contributing to the broader goals of promoting equality and inclusion for LGBTI communities in Colombia.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant will be responsible for the following duties:
  • Conducting comprehensive data analysis related to LGBTI issues in Colombia.
  • Processing statistical data and ensuring accuracy in the analysis.
  • Working with various data sources, including household surveys and administrative records.
  • Developing dashboards to visualize data findings effectively.
  • Utilizing statistical software such as R, Python, or Stata for data analysis.
  • Providing comparative analysis to identify trends and insights.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to understand data needs and ensure relevance of the analysis.
  • Preparing reports and presentations to communicate findings to relevant parties.
  • Engaging in discussions and consultations with UNDP and other partners to align the analysis with ongoing projects and initiatives.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires the following qualifications:
  • A professional degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or Public Policy.
  • Proven experience in data analysis and statistical processing.
  • Familiarity with data sources such as household surveys and administrative records.
  • Knowledge of sexual and gender diversity issues is essential.
  • Experience in constructing dashboards and utilizing statistical software (R, Python, Stata) for data analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in Spanish.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a professional degree in one of the following fields: Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or Public Policy. This educational background is crucial as it provides the necessary analytical skills and knowledge required for the data analysis tasks associated with this consultancy.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of three years of proven experience in data analysis or statistical processing. This experience should include working with various data sources, such as household surveys and administrative records, and a strong understanding of sexual and gender diversity issues. Additionally, experience in constructing dashboards and using statistical software like R, Python, or Stata is highly desirable.

Languages:
Fluency in Spanish is mandatory for this position, as all communication and documentation will be conducted in Spanish. Knowledge of English is considered an asset but is not mandatory.

The consultancy is for a fixed period of five months.
