Job Overview:
The CFM - Data Analyst position at WFP is crucial for establishing and maintaining an information management system that supports the Community Feedback Mechanism (CFM). This role involves ensuring that the CFM effectively collects, manages, analyzes, and resolves feedback from affected populations and stakeholders. The CFM aims to enhance accountability, transparency, and community engagement in humanitarian responses. The Data Analyst will work closely with various stakeholders to implement strategies that improve the quality and effectiveness of WFP’s assistance, ensuring that the voices of affected populations are central to decision-making processes. The position requires a proactive approach to identifying risks and adapting programming based on community feedback, thereby contributing to the overall mission of WFP in Syria.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The CFM Data Analyst will be responsible for several key tasks:
  • Maintaining the information management structure and strategy for the CFM, ensuring coherence with wider humanitarian information systems.
  • Coordinating with the AAP team to implement standardization plans and develop training materials.
  • Producing analytical reports and visualizations to communicate findings effectively.
  • Implementing standard operating procedures to enhance transparency and accountability within the CFM.
  • Developing accessible channels for stakeholders to provide feedback and ensuring proper documentation of the feedback resolution process.
  • Designing analytical frameworks for CFM data to improve programming and engagement with affected populations.
  • Establishing quality assurance procedures and performance indicators to monitor data management and case handling.
  • Contributing to the development of internal and external information structures to facilitate data flow within WFP and the humanitarian community.
  • Supporting the management of a small team, if required, and liaising with IT for technical support. 1
  • Assisting the gender/protection/AAP unit with data analysis and reporting as needed.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have completed secondary school education, with a post-certificate in a relevant field being desirable. A minimum of 5 years of experience is required, including at least 3 years in data analysis, information management, and client services, along with 2 years in a related field. Candidates should demonstrate proven experience in producing high-quality data analysis and reports, with strong English-language skills to convey complex ideas clearly. Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Excel, Tableau, or Microsoft Power BI is essential, along with solid IT skills and the ability to work across multiple platforms. Attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to thrive in high-pressure environments are also critical.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a completion of secondary school education, with a preference for candidates holding a post-certificate in fields related to data analysis, information management, or humanitarian assistance. This educational foundation is essential for understanding the complexities of the role and effectively contributing to the CFM's objectives.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, which includes at least 3 years specifically in data analysis and information management roles. Additionally, candidates should have 2 years of experience in any other relevant field, ideally related to humanitarian work or community engagement. This experience is crucial for ensuring that the Data Analyst can effectively manage and analyze feedback data, contributing to the overall mission of WFP.

Languages:
Fluency in both English and Arabic is mandatory for this position, with a proficiency level of C (advanced). This bilingual capability is essential for effective communication with diverse stakeholders and for accurately interpreting and analyzing feedback from affected populations. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset but is not required.
