Job Overview:
The Senior National Project Coordinator will play a pivotal role in leading the ILO's interventions under the PROSPECTS Partnership, focusing on enterprise development and financial inclusion in targeted governorates of Syria. This position is essential for implementing the Return and Rebuild project, which aims to support displaced and returning populations by enhancing access to decent work and promoting skills recognition. The coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the financial inclusion and entrepreneurship component of the project, ensuring timely implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of activities. This role requires close collaboration with various stakeholders, including government ministries, financial institutions, and implementing partners, to achieve project objectives effectively. The coordinator will also be tasked with organizing training sessions, workshops, and consultative meetings to foster partnerships and enhance project visibility at national and international levels.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Senior National Project Coordinator will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including leading the implementation of the financial inclusion and entrepreneurship component of the project. This involves providing technical and administrative support to the project manager, maintaining coordination with partner UN agencies, NGOs, banks, and other stakeholders. The coordinator will identify challenges, propose solutions, and ensure that project activities are aligned with the ILO's policies and regulations. Monitoring project progress through the analysis of work plans and reports is crucial, as is organizing seminars and training sessions to facilitate knowledge sharing. The coordinator will also be responsible for preparing technical progress reports and ensuring effective communication to enhance the project's visibility. Additionally, the role requires maintaining strong relationships with government and private sector stakeholders to support SME development and access to finance.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a first-level university degree in economics, finance, business administration, development studies, or a related field. A strong understanding of development issues, particularly in the financial sector, is essential. The ideal candidate should have at least three years of professional experience in Syria, specifically in implementing economic development projects related to the financial sector and entrepreneurship support. Proven experience working with government bodies, employers' organizations, and international organizations is highly desirable. Technical knowledge in financial sector development, local economic development, and livelihoods support is also required, along with familiarity with ILO's enterprise development work.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a first-level university degree in a relevant field such as economics, finance, business administration, or development studies. Candidates should have a strong foundation in development issues, particularly those related to financial sector development in Syria. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of the economic landscape and effectively implementing project activities.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of three years of professional experience in Syria, specifically in the implementation of economic development-related projects, particularly within the financial sector and entrepreneurship support. Candidates should demonstrate proven experience in collaborating effectively with government bodies, employers' organizations, and private financial sector players. Languages:
Excellent command of both Arabic and English, both written and spoken, is mandatory for this position.
