Job Overview: The Medical Laboratory Technologist position at UNRWA involves performing a comprehensive range of laboratory services, which include biochemistry, hematology, serology, routine examinations (such as urine and stool tests), and bacteriology. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of laboratory information within the computerized health information system (e-Health). In health centers lacking a Senior Medical Laboratory Technologist, the incumbent will prepare estimates for the replenishment of consumable supplies, compile monthly and annual laboratory statistical reports, and review and analyze quality control results, implementing necessary interventions. The position may also involve other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall effectiveness of the health services provided by UNRWA.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform a full range of laboratory services including biochemistry, hematology, serology, routine examinations (urine and stool), and bacteriology.
Ensure the accuracy and completeness of laboratory information in the computerized health information system (e-Health).
Maintain laboratory equipment, supplies, and reagents to ensure optimal functioning.
In health centers without a Senior Medical Laboratory Technologist, prepare estimates for the replenishment of consumable supplies.
Prepare monthly and annual laboratory statistical reports.
Review and analyze quality control results (both internal and external) and take necessary actions based on findings.
Perform additional duties as required to support the health center's operations and objectives.
Required Qualifications: The position requires the completion of a full secondary education and a two-year diploma from an accredited educational institution in medical laboratory technology or a related discipline.
