Job Overview:
The position involves a survey firm responsible for conducting field data collection of household and community surveys in selected governorates of southern Yemen. The surveys will focus on fish consumption patterns among households, contributing to a broader research project aimed at understanding the sustainability of fisheries and their role in food security and economic development in Yemen. Duties and Responsibilities:
The survey firm will be responsible for several key tasks:
  • Obtaining necessary permits and clearances for conducting surveys, including compliance with local regulations and health and safety protocols.
  • Finalizing the survey questionnaire in collaboration with IFPRI, ensuring it is tailored to the Yemeni context.
  • Recruiting experienced enumerators from a pool of data collectors and providing comprehensive training on the survey instrument and data collection methods.
  • Implementing the main data collection process, ensuring high-quality data is gathered through rigorous quality control measures, including random back-checks.
  • Processing and cleaning the collected data, submitting both raw and cleaned datasets along with documentation of the data cleaning procedures.
  • Engaging in follow-up discussions with IFPRI to share initial findings and insights from the data analysis after fieldwork completion.
