Job Overview:
The position of Individual Contractor (IC) for conducting a Perception Survey is aimed at assessing the progress on selected key outcome and output indicators. The contractor will be responsible for designing and implementing the survey, analyzing the data collected, and providing insights that will inform UNDP's strategies and interventions. This role requires a deep understanding of survey methodologies, data analysis, and the ability to communicate findings effectively. The assignment is expected to last for 40 working days over a two-month period, during which the contractor will engage with various stakeholders to gather relevant data and insights. The contractor will also be expected to submit a comprehensive report detailing the findings of the survey and recommendations based on the analysis.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Individual Contractor include but are not limited to:
  • Designing the survey methodology and tools to ensure comprehensive data collection.
  • Conducting the survey in accordance with the established timeline and guidelines.
  • Engaging with stakeholders to facilitate data collection and ensure accurate responses.
  • Analyzing the data collected using appropriate statistical methods and software.
  • Preparing a detailed report that includes findings, insights, and recommendations based on the survey results.
  • Presenting the findings to UNDP and relevant stakeholders, and incorporating feedback into the final report.
  • Ensuring compliance with ethical standards and confidentiality throughout the survey process.
  • Providing ongoing updates to the UNDP procurement team regarding progress and any challenges encountered during the survey.

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for this position include:
  • A proven track record in conducting surveys and data analysis, particularly in the context of development projects.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in statistical software (e.g., SPSS, R, or similar).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
  • Experience working with international organizations or NGOs is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of the local context in Ghana and familiarity with the socio-economic landscape will be an advantage.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes:
  • A minimum of a Master’s degree in social sciences, statistics, public policy, or a related field.
  • Additional certifications or training in survey methodology or data analysis will be considered an asset.
  • A strong academic background that demonstrates expertise in research methods and statistical analysis.

Experience:
The level of experience needed for this position includes:
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in conducting surveys, research, or data analysis in a development context.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing similar projects from inception to completion, including data collection and reporting.
  • Previous experience working with UNDP or other UN agencies is preferred but not mandatory.

Languages:
The mandatory language requirement for this position is proficiency in English, as all communications and reports will be conducted in English. Knowledge of local languages spoken in Ghana will be considered an asset, as it may facilitate better engagement with survey participants and stakeholders.
