Job Overview: The SSA Consultant (Private Sector Partnership) position is crucial for the Private Sector Partnerships unit at WFP India, which focuses on mobilizing resources, expertise, and innovation from businesses to enhance food security and nutrition goals. This role involves supporting the coordination and delivery of business support services to ensure effective fundraising for WFP India’s projects. The consultant will engage with corporations, foundations, and social enterprises to foster strategic collaborations that drive sustainable outcomes for vulnerable communities. The position requires a proactive approach to identifying potential partnerships, preparing relevant documentation, and facilitating donor engagements, all while aligning with WFP’s global strategy and contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Zero Hunger initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities: The SSA Consultant will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including conducting desk research to identify potential partnerships with the private sector that align with WFP's mandate in India. This includes developing a comprehensive roster/database of private sector entities, mapping high-net-worth individuals (HNIs), and supporting the Programme Policy Officer in preparing presentations, briefing notes, and donor reports. The consultant will also provide logistics support for donor visits, compile a repository of best practices and reports from projects funded by private sector partners, and submit monthly progress and work completion reports. Additionally, the consultant will coordinate with the WFP Country Office and undertake any other duties assigned by the Programme Policy Officer.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a University Degree in Social Sciences or Business Management, with specialized certification in a related functional area being desirable. A strong understanding of the private sector's role in social impact, particularly in relation to corporate social responsibility (CSR) and client management, is essential. The ideal candidate should also have experience in creating visually appealing marketing materials and developing compelling value propositions using advanced design tools. Excellent written and spoken communication skills are mandatory, along with the ability to create data-driven narratives that facilitate action-oriented discussions with partners.
Educational Background: A University Degree in Social Sciences or Business Management is required for this position. Specialized certification in a related functional area is considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's qualifications for the role.
Experience: Candidates should have at least 6 years of experience engaging with the private sector, either as part of social impact organizations or within the private sector itself, with a solid understanding of CSR practices and client management. Prior experience working with the United Nations or other multilateral agencies is highly desirable. Additionally, candidates must be nationals of India or residents with a valid work permit.
Languages: Fluency in both spoken and written English and Hindi is a key requirement for this position, enabling effective communication with diverse stakeholders and partners.
Additional Notes: This position is offered under a Special Services Agreement for a duration of 11 months, with the possibility of renewal depending on project requirements. The role is open exclusively to Indian nationals. The salary for this position is approximately INR 1,05,043 per month, and employees will receive medical benefits as per WFP's plan. All tax liabilities for payments from this contract will be the responsibility of the employee.
