Job Overview:
The Manager for the Corporate Strategy Unit at IFC will play a pivotal role in shaping and guiding the strategic direction of the organization. This position involves leading a team of approximately 15 professionals and reporting directly to the Director of the Corporate Strategy Unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for the formulation, implementation, and reporting of IFC's strategy, ensuring alignment with the broader World Bank Group (WBG) strategies. The role requires a deep understanding of both past and present strategies of IFC and WBG, as well as the ability to evaluate operational implications and develop effective implementation plans. The Manager will also be tasked with promoting staff understanding of strategic priorities and commitments, thereby fostering a culture of strategic alignment within the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Manager will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including but not limited to: maintaining a deep knowledge of IFC and WBG strategies, supporting periodic updates of IFC’s strategic vision, leading the development of sector/thematic strategies, and coordinating IFC’s contributions to WBG strategies. The role also involves evaluating operational implications of strategies in collaboration with internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment between strategies and key performance indicators (KPIs), and implementing effective reporting mechanisms to monitor strategy implementation. Additionally, the Manager will identify potential risks to strategy implementation and develop mitigation plans. Leadership responsibilities include managing a diverse team, overseeing recruitment and staff development, and fostering an environment that encourages innovation and learning.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master’s or PhD in Business, Finance, Economics, International Relations, or a related field, along with a minimum of 12 years of relevant leadership experience. A strong background in corporate strategy, consulting, banking, or applied economics, particularly in emerging markets, is essential. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of IFC and WBG strategies and operations, with strong analytical and strategic formulation skills. Demonstrated ability to operate in a complex, multicultural environment and manage multiple portfolios simultaneously is crucial. Proven leadership skills, the ability to foster innovation, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills are also required.

Educational Background:
