Job Overview: The Field Coordinator serves as the delegated director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Country Director for a specific region in which Solidarités International operates. This role involves proposing a regional strategy based on the geopolitical and humanitarian context and ensuring its implementation once validated. The Field Coordinator is responsible for overseeing that projects align with the Solidarités International charter and adhere to all internal and contractual procedures. This position requires mobilizing necessary material and financial resources for program execution, managing team security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security, and acting as the direct contact and representative for the Country Director. Given the current context of conflict in Gaza, the Field Coordinator must navigate high-stress conditions while leading a team and ensuring effective humanitarian response.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Field Coordinator's responsibilities include:
Coordination and strategic orientation of operations in the assigned region.
Managing resources effectively, including financial and material resources.
Overseeing human resource management, including team leadership and security.
Establishing and maintaining relationships with financial backers and seeking funding opportunities.
Facilitating internal and external communication to promote the organization's mission.
Representing Solidarités International in various forums and discussions.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a strong educational background in logistics, transport, warehousing, IT, supply chain, or management. A minimum of 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector is required, with prior experience in a similar position being advantageous. Specific skills include strong team management and mentoring capabilities, adaptability to rapidly changing environments, and the ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines. Candidates should also have good representational skills and a solid understanding of security management and humanitarian issues.
Educational Background: The ideal candidate should have a relevant educational background in fields such as logistics, transport, warehousing, IT, supply chain management, or general management. Additional Notes: This is a short-term contract position with a duration of 6 months, starting as soon as possible. The role is based in Gaza, specifically in Deir-el-Balah, where Solidarités International has established its office and guesthouse. The living conditions in Gaza are described as very harsh due to ongoing conflict and disruptions to basic services, which creates a challenging working environment. The compensation package includes a gross monthly salary starting from EUR 3080, a monthly per diem of USD 750, accommodation costs, and travel expenses covered by the organization. Additionally, the position includes a break system allowing for time off every two months, along with an insurance package covering healthcare expenses.
