Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the (Associate) Banking and Finance Lawyer include: managing contacts and negotiations concerning EIB operations, drafting legal documents, providing advisory legal support, finalizing contracts, and completing all related legal formalities. The lawyer will also be responsible for legal monitoring, including restructuring and post-signature events, contributing to the development and implementation of new products, and understanding the specificities of contractual documentation. Additionally, the role involves participating in horizontal activities relevant to the Division, liaising with external consultants, undertaking legal research, and maintaining relationships within the Bank.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a university degree in law from Italy, along with a professional legal qualification and admission to the Italian bar. An additional qualification as an English solicitor is advantageous. Post-graduate legal studies, such as an LLM or equivalent, are also considered beneficial. A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in banking and finance, particularly in structured finance and/or project financing/PPP transactions, is required. Experience should ideally be gained in a major international law firm, a reputable domestic Italian law firm, or the in-house legal department of a financial institution. Candidates should demonstrate strong drafting and negotiation skills in both Italian and English, as well as the ability to effectively argue and reach consensus on legal issues.
