Job Overview: The internship-position" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">internship position at UNFPA Indonesia Country Office is designed to provide support to the Humanitarian Programme Analyst and the humanitarian team. The intern will engage in various activities related to humanitarian coordination, documentation, and information sharing, particularly within the Reproductive Health (RH) and Gender-Based Violence (GBV) sub-clusters. The role emphasizes the importance of effective communication and collaboration among cluster members, ensuring that information flows smoothly and that meetings are well-organized. The intern will have the opportunity to develop skills in coordination, documentation, and information management while contributing to UNFPA's mission of promoting reproductive health and rights in humanitarian settings. The internship will also include a work plan outlining achievements and learning opportunities, with periodic progress meetings to enhance the intern's skills and capacity.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordination Support: Assist in planning, organizing, and facilitating coordination meetings for the RH, GBV prevention and response, and Women’s Empowerment Sub-Clusters. This includes preparing logistical arrangements and materials for both virtual and in-person meetings.
Documentation and Reporting: Draft and finalize minutes of coordination meetings, ensuring accuracy and timely distribution to all relevant partners. Maintain an updated calendar of events, meetings, and key activities for the National RH and GBV sub-cluster’s work plans.
Information Management: Update and maintain RH and GBV Sub Cluster contact lists and communication platforms, both at National and Sub-National Levels, along with activity trackers and other coordination tools. Organize and manage the online shared drive and information repositories for the sub-clusters.
Communication and Information Sharing: Support the dissemination of key information, updates, and resources to sub-cluster members and other relevant stakeholders, ensuring consistency and clarity in all shared materials.
General Support: Provide administrative and logistical assistance for UNFPA humanitarian-related events and workshops, and perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor in support of the humanitarian programme and inter-agency coordination work.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must demonstrate a strong interest in the field of development and possess written and spoken proficiency in English. They should also exhibit the ability to adapt to new environments and establish good working relationships with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds. Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated experience in university-based volunteer initiatives or active involvement in campus organizations, particularly those related to Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA), the Minimum Initial Service Package (MISP) for Reproductive Health, and Gender-Based Violence (GBV) in emergency settings. Fluency in Bahasa Indonesia is required, and proficiency in additional languages is considered an asset.
Educational Background: Candidates must be enrolled in a bachelor’s degree programme and have completed at least two years of full-time studies at the time of application, preferably in Public Health, Data Science, or Computer Science. Alternatively, candidates who have recently graduated with a bachelor’s degree in the aforementioned fields may apply, provided they commence the internship within one year of graduation.
Experience: The internship is designed for candidates who are either currently enrolled in a relevant degree program or have recently graduated. While specific prior work experience is not mandatory, any involvement in volunteer initiatives or relevant campus organizations will be highly valued. The intern should be eager to learn and develop skills in humanitarian coordination and support.
Languages: Proficiency in English is mandatory, as it is the primary language of communication within the organization. Fluency in Bahasa Indonesia is also required due to the local context of the internship. Additional language skills are considered an asset and may enhance the candidate's profile.
Additional Notes: The internship is unpaid, and interns do not receive a salary or any other form of remuneration from UNFPA. Interns are responsible for their living expenses, accommodation, travel, and other requirements. However, a stipend may be provided to help cover basic daily expenses if the intern is not financially supported by any institution or program. Interns must also have medical insurance for the duration of the internship, and proof of insurance will need to be submitted before the internship begins.
