Job Overview:
The coordinator" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Finance Coordinator will lead financial operations within the Yemen mission, which operates in a volatile environment. This role involves directing and coordinating all administrative, accounting, and financial services associated with the mission. The Finance Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the financial balance of the mission, ensuring adherence to Solidarités' administrative procedures, donor requirements, and local laws. This position serves as the primary point of contact for all financial matters between the mission and headquarters, requiring close collaboration with field bases for project financial follow-up. The role also entails monitoring the local banking situation and exchange rates, training administrative and finance teams, and managing the financial planning of ongoing projects, particularly as some long-term projects approach completion.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Finance Coordinator's duties include: 1) Leading financial operations and ensuring compliance with administrative procedures and local laws. 2) Monitoring the banking situation and exchange rates in Yemen to inform project forecasts. 3) Preparing financial reports for ongoing projects. 4) Collaborating with the Emergency Response Team (EPRT) to oversee budget spending for projects. 5) Training and capacity building for administrative and finance teams at both coordination and base levels. 6) Updating financial planning and proposing necessary changes based on project evaluations. 7) Ensuring effective closure of long-term projects and submission of required reports. 8) Maintaining communication with headquarters regarding financial matters and ensuring timely reporting. 9) Adapting to the volatile security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security environment and managing risks associated with staff movements and operations.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Financial Management. They should have 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with a similar duration of experience in a finance-related position. Specific technical skills required include knowledge of Saga software, familiarity with Solidarités' rules and procedures, and understanding of Shared Cost Methodology. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate strong analytical and writing skills, the ability to work under pressure in a tense security environment, and good organizational skills.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor's degree in Financial Management is required for this position. This educational background provides the foundational knowledge necessary for managing financial operations and understanding the complexities of financial reporting and compliance within the humanitarian sector.

Experience:
The position requires 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, specifically in financial management roles. Candidates should have a proven track record of working in similar positions, demonstrating their ability to navigate the challenges associated with financial operations in volatile environments.

Languages:
Fluency in written and oral English is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in Arabic is considered an asset, enhancing communication capabilities within the local context and with national staff.

Additional Notes:
This is a short-term contract position with a duration of 9 months, starting as soon as possible. The role is based in Aden, Yemen, where the security situation is unstable and requires careful management of staff movements. The compensation package includes a gross monthly salary starting from EUR 2860, a monthly per diem of USD 750, and coverage for accommodation and travel expenses. Expatriates are entitled to a break system, receiving 7 working days off every two months, along with an additional rest day for each month worked. An insurance package is provided, covering healthcare expenses and essential vaccinations. Living conditions are described as comfortable, with individual rooms and common spaces available for relaxation and socialization.
